You guys should be thankful Katy peaked at #2. I love Katy but I know her ballads would always be an obstacle to get to #1, with discounts, featurings, etc. If she released "Dressin Up" it wouldn't have been such a struggle that we'd have to watch.

But "Wide Awake" had no obstacle/struggle to get where it's at. Ever since the Billboard performance, it effortlessly shot up in sales and airplay. It simply came at the wrong time with Gotye and Carly. "Dressin' Up" is possibly the worst song she has ever recorded, that would've been a "Marry The Night"/"Criminal"/4 era mess and that's why "Wide Awake" was chosen.

dressin up would've been a hit but in retrospect can we really say that katy has done wrong this era? Everything has gone amazingly and I could only wish the kind of success she's had on my faves (while my main faves have had massive success, it's not in both singles AND album sales.
