So what? You want this to be an all Britney Spears/Mariah Carey forum?
Might as well change the name to that instead of ATRL. Last time I checked I had 11 guests in my thread, plus two members. These guests are just scared to register.
Having threads for underated artists, like your instance, Jesse McCartney or even Leonis Lewis expands ATRL. Would you want to join a forum that was basically just about Britney Spears and Mariah Carey with no other musical tastes? The more we post about other artists, regardless if they are big or not, creates a more diverse place. We can expand our horizons and create even a bigger forum. Isn't that TC's and Joseph's goal? To have more members join and have more guests per day? Because if this forum was dead, it wouldn't last any longer.
My point is, exploring flopping/underated artists expands ATRL to it's max. Having just Britney Spears and Mariah Carey would make an instance flop for ATRL. All I know is if ATRL was based on the "Big" artists I wouldn't want to come here anymore. That's what is unique about ATRL. For it's diverse amount of members from all around the world.
Brand new artists such as 'Pinter'
belong in a BLOG, because no one is going to know about them. But, in your case, Jesse McCartney went Platinum with his Beautiful Soul CD and it was a hit on TRL and all around the World. Maybe just maybe some people want to read it.
You can't force someone to not post about their favorite artist. "You can't post a topic about these such and such artists, only the big names such as Britney or Mariah; TC"
Maybe if we the thread, for your instance Jesse, keeps getting "bumped"
to the first page, guests will keep seeing it and eventually start going into it more often and getting into that artist. It's called promotion. If you let the page flop to the 2nd page or 3rd page, no one will know about it. The more it's on the first page, guests/members will be curious to see it. I remember when I first created that thread it had 0 to 1 guests in it max. Now it is up to like 11 or 12. It does work....
ATRL is all about Diverse. You can't force a fan to not post about their favorite artist. If you want me to continue I can
. I don't know how, on your opinion, that would work. So if there wasn't an official thread, people would post more threads about an artist and it would cause more "bandwidth" to the more threads. Right? Or I could be mistaken. Maybe it would just create more threads. Knowing that there is an "Official Thread" for some members, they'll know NOT to post something unless it's there.
I'm done, I talk to much
. Did I bore you yet?
