The integrated Google maps app was amazing and was a resourceful tool while I lived in NYC. The routes and mapping on it were way more detailed and extensive than Apples' new MAPS that they have adopted. I mean, the maps app can't even pickup the Walmart that's 2 miles away from my parents' house, but can pick up the one on the other side of town.
It has a LONG WAY to go when matching the effectiveness Google maps provided.
Not to mention, we longer have access to metro transportation in our maps. Google integrate metro into their system to allow directions while commuting via public transportation (huge feature needed in NYC, DC, ATL, LA, SF, etc). Apple's new MAPS takes you to a third party app in order to get the public transportation routes. NO BUENO! The voice turn-by-turn was a plus, but we loss the effectiveness of directions because of the switch. It took Google YEARS to perfect their maps, I'm not here for waiting 10 years for Apple to figure it out. #MESS
