I bought Janelle album. still not as good as the storytelling beyoncé. Pure Heroine is a musical gift. but miss the involvement and the master production found on Beyoncé. Matangi is a very good album but not even a POP album in the sense of POPULAR. Yours Truly has reortedly been filled of Beyoncé leftovers once Beyoncé rejected 1 or 2 songs on it.
When the OP says Pop-girl it means POPULAR Girls & POPULAR Albums. Sorry if Beyoncé is the only R&B pop girl. I guess it shows how powerful her music is to bring R&B to a POPular level.

Lol. MIA is probably closer to a pop girl than any other female whose album I have mentioned, so its funny how you chose her to point that out. And if its true what you told about Yours Truly, then I have to bow down to Ariana for making better job at executing those leftovers than Beyonce with the whole album. From Janelles album you can feel the emotions. Pure Heroine is so great thanks to the minimalistic and clever production, but whatever you say, its your opinion.
Beyonce is maybe Beys best album, and it truly is a solid album, but it wouldnt make even my top 50 best albums of 2013. I respect you, so dont try to downgrade my opinion as reaching.

It got so hyped up cuz it's release strategy was 'kinda' unique. Not for the album itself. It also helps Beyonce likes to make people think she's an untouchable goddess and critics tend to fall for that

Rated R is a great album but no, Beyoncé is better than it.
Like A Prayer, The Velvet Rope, Butterfly, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Ray of Light, Tidal, Erotica, Vespertine, and even The Fame Monster immediately come to mind as albums that are arguably better than Beyoncé. One could even say that 4 is better than Beyoncé.
People laughing at the question like BEYONCE isn't even comparable. It's been ages since a pop artist released an album that has seen similar levels of commercial success, critical acclaim, and immediate pop culture influence. 10 years from now it will be regarded in the same light as the albums yall are lauding now (The Velvet Rope, Erotica, etc).
