I personally haven't actually said that. I really loved WAUN and I like Sorry also. I'm not biased at all. Boyfriend was that bop back in 2012, same with ALAYLM and his Believe Acoustic album had some phenomenal versions. However, he simply doesn't deserve #1. I'm sorry. To me sales have, are, and always will be the most important aspect of any #1.
Also, 1D have never been radio candy, not since Story Of My Life. That's not and never has been their strongest department. Judging based on that is ridiculous.
Nothings been confirmed yet? They're leading in pre-orders (had a longer start) the numbers can automatically change once both CD's hit the stores. I don't know why you guys already have this mind set that they will be leading in album sales.
Im just laughing at some people saying "Sorry'' a leftover Jack U track is beter than "Drag me down'' ofc the majority of gays are going to prefer the edm over the good pop music 1d has been serving but whatever
Agreed, EDM is terrible and dated and that Sorry song is trash to me...sounds very mainstream.
I'd also just like to say, I'm well aware that the boys' albums aren't ****ing Ray of Light or whatever.
I'm not trying to say Drag Me Down is a groundbreaking song. I'm not saying Made in the A.M. will change the game. But they just make incredible rock tinged pop music with amazing melodies and hooks, have incredible touring power as well as stage presence (don't quote me with 'kii what stage presence' if you haven't seen the Where We Are concert film or more recent videos from On The Road Again) and are all talented in their own right (sure Niall is the weakest vocally - amazing on the new album though - but he plays guitar, some may say Louis is vocally weak but he is the primary songwriter).
I'm just sick of people treating them like everything they have done is just What Makes You Beautiful 1/2/3/4.0 and that they aren't talented or whatever. I'm sick of it.

It has nothing to do with being gay. There's a reason why Sorry is more acclaimed than Drag Me Down.
I wasnt even going to respond to this but i hate when people say this ******** to attack them
how the fu** you say this
sounds the same as this
this
and this
and im only using their singles to prove my point.
Lol what??? This is literally proof that all their songs sound the same
All the 1D fans in here are making fools of themselves. Everyone thought (including me) when 1D announced their album would be out the same day as Justin's that they would get the #1, but now that Justin's shown that he has a chance you're all suddenly so threatened. The truth is yes, 1D has had bigger album sales in the past, but Justin still has a big fanbase and has been winning the gp over and he has a really good chance, so just deal with it.
I still think it's anybody's game when it comes to the #1, but there's a few things I know for sure- whoever comes in second won't be that far behind, Justin's album will sell more in the long run/be more remembered/produce more hits, and Justin deserves the #1.
Justin Bieber can make as many fake apology songs as he want, I ain't falling for that ****. He's a snotty nosed brat who think he can do anything.

I think it has a hell of a lot to do with ATRL being biased against males, especially straight males. And while Sorry, and Justin's music as a whole this era, could be something a pop girl would release, Drag Me Down would never even grace the cutting room floor of Katy Perry or Rihanna.
Sad really. ATRL are missing out on some great music.

You've got some nerve talking about sounding the same when 2/3 of Bieber's songs so far and just Where Are U Now reworked
Compare these:
These are all influenced by completely different genres lmao
Sorry is still at #2 (behind Adele) all around the world with no promo and no official music video. It would've been his second #1 Hot 100 debut and all he did was put the song on iTunes. So no he doesn't need all the promo/hype/exposure to sell.
We shouldn't use Justin's ability to create buzz against him though. If we look at 1D we can see that literally no one cares about them or their music outside of their core fanbase.

'But they all sound the same because they all have male vocals and are by One Direction and aren't 6 minute electronic bleeps and occasional grunts like real music these days!!1!!!11!!!'

He released a dance video though those streams are what helped him debut so high on the hot 100

Bieber's songs could be sung by any other pop artist. He's following radio trends and making music that's in right now, but will age terribly.
