Madonna would never have done an album like Loud after Rated R so early in her career...she always moves forward in one way or another. It would have been a step back. Loud was like an apology for Rated R.

Madonna released Human nature after Erotica which was basically a FU for all the haters during Erotica! She didn't tone things down...she turned them up!

Sort of...but Madonna worked with major mainstream producers for Bedtime Stories, and it was much more commercial and radio friendly than Erotica was (can you see the correlation to Rated R & LOUD?).
