I've seen her name a lot, what's her music like/genre?
She varies wildly and experiments with many sounds, but I would classify her under alternative/rock. She also does experimental lounge/jazz. Occasionally she'll experiment with electronic elements as well.
Her voice is an acquired taste but it is very powerful and has a nasally, but raspy tone to it that I adore. Here are some of her well-known songs:
Where the **** do u get ur facts from then? Namie has sold over 30 million records in Japan which is about double Kumi's total.
Namie is regarded as a legend in Japan while poor Crystal is just some basic bitch who had minor success to to the R&B wave. Too bad Japan dropped her faster than Micheal Jackson dropped his black skin
Ayumi is a legend in Japan. So is Utada. I like Namie, but she is no legend.
A flop is always relative. There are people who don't even chart at all with their singles and albums, but they can still make good music. I'm all in for a laugh when making fun of of an artist's failure, however, there's always a limit to it. Only because you stan for someone who was quite successful in Japan over the last decade, doesn't mean that you can bash other artists for putting out new music and try to make their few fans they have happy.
Talking about MJ. Listen to this stunning rendition of his song Happy, interpreted by the flawless CK.
Namie is a legend too. Kumi's getting there, she needs a few more years of relevance, although her sales trend is not looking great.
Yeah I'm hoping the pregnancy comeback hype will help her out. Even if she stopped now though I'm still pretty happy with what she's accomplished since she didn't peak during 1997-2002 like all the other divas did.
Chunk, exactly how long have u been following J-Pop? Clearly not long enough
Namie is a legend and is one of the most respected artists in the game. In the business for 20 years, 30 million sold, 4th highest selling female of all time and 12th highest selling artist overall.
Please don't try it if u don't have the correct reciepts
Of course Namie is a legend. The fact that she got her ass snatched, then turns around and has this resurgence in her popularity, outselling the people who "replaced" her is proof enough.

since 2010
Crystal is in the business for more than 12 years now. She has sold over 5 million records and still just youthful 26 years old, while Namie is already an old hag with her 34 years. At least Crystal has still potential to reach international fame, while Namie will always remain local.
