No offense Katy Perry fans but it would of been epic if "I Will Always Love You" was #1 for like a month and it blocked all these big songs lol If Whitney's sales hold up for another week and Katy drops on the hot 100, does it have a chance of going #1 if it's already #2 (assuming)

I like the choice. Due to it, it'll be a huge smash. I think bigger than "SFTTR". She didn't need a third ballad in a row.

I doubt RHI is going #1 at this point but oh well, time will tell.

I don't think she's even getting #2 this week. I believe SFTTR is still ahead (due to its huge AI).

I think some of you are over-estimating Rumour Has It.
Adele released it as the 4th single in the UK a few months back, and it FLOPPED majorly. Like seriously, it missed the top 75. And Adele is probably more popular in the UK than she is in the US.
I think Turning Tables would be a better choice for her next single in the US. Even if it sounds similar to Someone Like You. Turning Tables did better than Rumous Has It in the UK without even being a single!

I like "Rumor Has It" it's a very sexy/sassy side of Adele lmao ........would "I'll Be Waiting" be a good single. I could see it used for a movie or a tv commercial lol

If RHI gets the same "promotion" treatment as SFTTR, we will be lucky if she gets top 10.
You are forgetting something though. 21 went 14X platinum in the UK (versus 7X in the US). Album sales are hindering her singles a lot more in the UK than in the US.

but RHI is doing better so far in US. and SFTTR kinda flopped in UK too (peaked at #11), whilst hitting #1 in US a looong time after, with no promo whatsoever.
her singles (except SLY) seems to do better in US than UK, while the album still is heading towards the top 5 of all time in UK anyway

But "Rumor Has It" is nearly Platinum in America, lingering around in the top 100/200 of iTunes for a long time. It has also already done well on some radio formats since the release of the album, including Rock Songs and Triple A charts.
While it bombed in the UK, it clearly has the prerequisites to be released here.

If Adele does a video and ONE performance for Rumor Has It the song will, no doubt, go to #1. I think this era has taught us that nothing is impossible when it comes to Adele.

Turning Tables has been released like 4th single here in Italy and became a top10 hit. (SLY and RITD were #1's and SFTTR a top3 hit).

I know that, I don't know why I typed "second"
Oh wow, I hate how badly they treated SFTTR. It deserved an epic video.

Agree.I actually think she could make almost every song go #1 with some performances.

Even after that,
40 ADELE - Rolling In the Deep
43 ADELE - Someone Like You
54 ADELE - Set Fire to the Rain
Just wait for the Brits.

Rumour Has It won't flop. Probably not a #1, but in the UK RITD never got to #1, and SFTTR never even made the Top 10. So, Adele is possibly even more popular in the US. Plus RHI has already been released to other radio formats, is selling well and is known by the American public, which will likely lead to a hit.

People said that SFTTR wouldn't rise to #1 because it underperformed in the UK and Australia (peaked @ #11 in both). Some folks need to realize that not every country is the same. Also, I don't recall RHI being pushed in any other country. It was just released as a single. That's about it. I'm not saying it will go #1 (I don't think it will, but we'll see), but it'd be crazy to underestimate it becoming at least a top 10 hit, which would be decent enough success for a song off an album that has sold 7 million copies and produced three #1 singles.

I think that RHI will do fine in the US. I don't know if it is going number one (because I was relatively sure at the beginning for the other singles that they would get number one eventually), though.
