I'm sure the most rap stans isn't going like that track because it's a Pop record. Pop music tends to sell a lot more than hip hop music. With Nicki Minaj, she releases pop music and it does well on selling.

Nicki has done a great job of showing all of the sides to her so far this era and, for me, it is crucial to release TNISY so she can continue to show that + it is good promotion from a business standpoint.

Not releasing it shows weakness imo. She was def ballsy to even include it on the album, but it means a lot more to release it and demonstrate that Starships/Roman Reloaded, while extreme, was still very much her. She just didn't have the right balance.

TNISY is a good song, catchy, yet still fits the theme of the album unlike Anaconda, it's Pop, and it's a potential hit.

That's 5 reasons right there why releasing it is a good idea. Put y'all personal taste aside and look at the bigger picture. But yeah I'm done now.

And then there will be talking about how all it needed was a music video and/or promotion for it to have become a hit. It's all about timing when it comes to singles and whether or not they do well.

I personally could care less about how well it does, just as long as it is released. It's a good song worthy of being a single and it shows that Nicki hasn't gone back to her roots at all... She has just mastered balance and has finally figured out what does and doesn't work for her.

Pop radio has supported her Pop friendly songs for almost 5 years now.

Anaconda didn't even do well on Urban radio. To say Pop doesn't play black artist is fallacious. Yes they don't play most hip-hop/R&B artists, but they have played the pop friendly songs from Rihanna, Drake, Nicki, Beyoncé, Jason, Chris, Tinashe, and John Legend.

That's why there's different radio formats.

Top 40 used to play R&B/Hip-Hop in the 90s-00s then dance music took over + Mediabase reformatting multiple stations after all the inflated AI numbers from the mid-00s (which is why songs like WBT had such a high AI number).

Pop radio should've played Pills N Potions more. It's a freaking Pop song and it went Top 10 on Urban, but only peaked at #49 on Pop radio.
