A discussion implies that both sides get to talk. If Kaine keeps interesting Pence, it's not a DISCUSSION. He needs to let Pence talk (since he'd undoubtedly say something dumb) and then have a better response, not cut him off.
Pence's problem though is that he thinks it's a 2 minute answer format and it's not.
