Correction. Hingis won a mixed* and doubles* slam at an older age than Serena (but in the Open Era neither are records) while Serena holds the record as the oldest slam winner in singles which is more important.
She however, has not won a slam more recently than Serena. Sure the doubles and/or mixed came a day after the singles competition but in the history books both will be recorded as won at the same exact time. It doesn't work the way you are describing it.
