I don't know about that. There were various R&B female artists in the 90s way more successful than Brandy in terms of music, acting, modeling, etc.

I think Brandy's success was more comparable to Rihanna's, at least music wise.

It doesn't shock me that you knew Beyonce and you didn't know Aaliyah, she had a very urban fanbase while Beyonce was already becoming known everywhere in the world.

I guess Whitney is more Beyonce, with the whole American Golden Girl thing going, big movies, big voice, big success, lots of awards, and loads of talent.
