Given his recent actions, he's probably going to do 1 but Kaine could push with RFRA (and how Pence invited pretty much openly homophobic folks to the signing of the bill) and his other past comments.
I don't see a way out when they discuss matters regarding women though. Can't really hide behind anyone for Pence but might be a grey area with abortion for Kaine.
It will probably be refreshing because I'm sure Pence actually prepared for this unlike Trump

Pence will be forced to explain his views. I trust that Kaine will constantly push him on it.
Kaine has an easy way out of the abortion issue. He's opposed to it personally but believes the government shouldn't interfere with a woman's health. Many would probably agree with that. Funny how the philosophies of the two parties are completely reversed on social issues, though.
