In honor of this round I thought it'd be cute to do my own personal favorite songs.
So hopefully I can connect more with the contestants (inb4 all the judges copy me)
(None of this will help you, so don't look for any hints, just for fun)
I also can't just pick 1, so i'll do a few.
Cupid's Favourite Songs
This is one of my earliest childhood memories. My mum was a hue Cher fan, I used to steal her vinyls and listen to them as a young boy in the 90's. I remember her having a Cher greatest hits or something and I would put this song on repeat. I remember being entranced by it's magical sound and I loved the story it told. This was the first time I'd ever felt emotionally connected to the story of a song, despite it not really relating to me. I think this is where I first discovered my love for Cher and for story-telling lyrics.
At the age of 16 I left home, I got my own place and moved in with a friend, and got a job at a hospital. I remember I bought my first car, my friend put one of her CD's in and this song came on, it was the first time I'd heard it. We drove around for a few hours, blaring this song out, singing along. The whole situation was like out of a movie and the lyrics of the song just fit so well. Ever since, I've loved this song, it hits me in the heart tbh.
This song means a lot to me, it came at a hard time in my life and I think the lyrics speak for themselves. I also have a tattoo of this song on me. So it clearly means a lot.
This isn't my favorite Kylie song, let me just point that out. But it's up there in the top few. This is my feel-good song. Brings back lots of happy childhood memories and never fails to make me happy and remind me of certain family members/friends.
Speaking of childhood songs, this was one of my anthems as an angsty teen. This is a song i'll never grow tired of and I can listen to forever. This is something i'll pass along to my kids when they're being messy rebel hearts.
And just for the LOL's... this was the first ever CD (or was it Cassette tape, i'm old af) back in the 90's. I used to get blank tapes and put them into my mums old radio, and sit and record songs off the radio (this is how we used to illegally download back in the olden days kids). Anyway I remember saving up my pocket money and going out and buying this on CD. I would put it on repeat and do the dance around my house ha. Good old 90s...
