68. White Heat
Average - 7.019
Album: True Blue
Rank within album: 1st of 5
Hearts (11): Dark Miracles(10): tylerlscwv, conatus, Reverie, enxe, Quicksand, THEBEASTWITHIN, Eeveelution, HausOfCarlos, Superiore, Lifeline, dabunique, XStaticProcess
Rebels (1): Shaliydah88, HonourableVomit
Host commentary - This song is so 80s it is ridiculous. Between that sample, the production and the lyrics. It just knocks so hard. I’m lowkey distraught over this, so I can’t think of a way to describe how much I love thing song, but just know that it went way too soon.
Guest commentary
HonourableVomit -For YEARS that I have stanned Madonna, I've seen so many fans wank over this. How? What is it about this song? It's loathsome, with a weak chorus, basic production and the spoken parts are a pain in the ass. The "Incredible" of the 80s tbh, cut it loose.
Subomie - Fantastic apart from that sample at the start, people do too much on the album.
Eeveelution- Really should've been a single instead of True Blue (her most forgotten top 10 to date?), great song.
Alongoria13 I just don't feel the need of listening to this song when it's sandwiched between 2 of Madonna's finest.
eli’s_rhythm - no melody
Quicksand- A contender for my 11. Having the movie clips at the beginning of the song and during the bride was GENIUS.

I listened to it once the day I bought the album, thought "aww, how nice to finally have a song about her fans" and never listened to it again, because why would you?

RIP True Blue
Album average: 5.508
Rank amongst albums: 15th of 15
Host commentary: True Blue suffers mainly from an atrocious sequencing of its tracks (like Live to Tell to Where’s the Party….mess). But individually it has some of the best tracks of Madonna’s career and White Heat and Where’s The Party are true underrated 80s classics. And Jimmy Jimmy really isn’t that bad.
LoveLiveMusic's guest album commentary: True Blue is one album I really can’t digest. Aside from memorable singles (True Blue has slayed me since September 9th), I really don’t care for this album. It sounds like a step back towards the first album. They all sound like TV theme songs. But as a stan, I’ll throw around the receipts and hail it as one of the best albums of all time.

Host commentary - I love the groove of this one. The bridge is cute. I don’t necessarily think it is a highlight of her 2000s discography, but I like the simplicity of it. It is just something pleasant to listen to. I imagine this is what adult contemporary Madonna would sound like.
Guest commentary
Subomie - The chorus is a little cool, but it's all kind of flaccid to me.

I'm kind of glad Tu Berculosis is the lowest-rated, even though Hard Candy deserves it more. It's just not a good album.

Beautiful Scars takes me to a beautiful cotton candy world with swirls and a beautiful purple dancefloor.
