I'm like a week late, but I just watched the finale and whew what a messy season it has been.
At first, I had mixed feelings about Nicole winning because I feel like her gameplay was mediocre at best, but really evaluating the jury's opinions, I think Nicole wasn't a bad choice. Even the guys admitted she played them like a violin.
I think alot of the uproar over Paul losing has to come with people having a tendency to put alot of value into the struggle and more outward aggressive style of gameplay rather than the silent strategist. I have to give credit it where it's due, Paul played a SOLID game and deserved Top 2 easily. He went from the bottom of the pack to the top.
But unfortunately, I feel like there were several factors that backfired on him in the end. People will say that jurors should only vote objectively on gameplay strategy and not personal factors, but honestly, I don't think it's entirely unfair. Paul's mouth and attitude probably were the tipping factor that costed him. It was a poor and just stupid choice to take Nicole to Top 2 when he really didn't owe either of them anything, and then he gave some pretty cocky responses to their questions. So in the end, I feel like as much as a snake as Nicole was, she sort of deserved it.
