Host commentary - I love the groove of this one. The bridge is cute. I don’t necessarily think it is a highlight of her 2000s discography, but I like the simplicity of it. It is just something pleasant to listen to. I imagine this is what adult contemporary Madonna would sound like.
Guest commentary Subomie - The chorus is a little cool, but it's all kind of flaccid to me.
Host commentary - The certainly has nothing on Sonny & Cher. It is songs like this that really make me question people who rank Hard Candy high amongst her albums...like do you just stan for Pharrell and then like a little Madonna on the side? The chorus is serviceable I suppose and she certainly has worse lyrics on the album. But I just hate Pharrell’s bits so much that I can’t deal with it. It just gets annoying very fast. Plus Kanye’s verse just sounds like a downgrade from his American Boy verse.
Guest commentary Vilppu - I kind of don't get how Kanye is such a great producer, yet the songs he made for Madonna are just pure garbage. Beat Goes On has one of his most dry and uninspired beats, it's also just so boring and monotonous... Next.
Subomie - Not Kanye's best but the song is just a complete bop regardless. The "here comes, my hand, take it" part is a stand-out for sure.
