Billy Mann has produced some her best work. Let's not. Sure, Bridge of Light isn't one of them, but it was for a ****ing animated film. Lol. It fit the moment in the movie perfectly.

If she does release another breakup song, however, it better be produced by Max Martin and it better captures a bit of the essence they had with Funhouse!

about finding/listening to other artists who are more creative: i can do that, too (and i am), but i am also a pink fan and am rooting for her artistry as well and judging from the you+me interviews she kinda feels a bit stuck and frustrated with the current situation in music and how labels control everything. i hope it's not again nothing but hot air like her interview about her going to nashville :/

Nonono I understand your anger – I mean, you stuck with her from the very beginning and experienced that whole process which eventually lead to a direction you cannot approve. But it’s the way she evolved…. and… if today, she enjoys writing pop songs more than she enjoys digging in her past + putting absolutely everything she has into her music, then I suppose it’s her good right to do so. Art should come naturally and without false intentions and if she’s in a happy, easy and comfortable state right now….well….so be it and so be her music. It might suck for us art lovers and fans of her old work but as friends and supporters, we should be happy that she doesn’t have so much trouble on her mind anymore and that she has plenty of other things to focus on….even if it’s just cupcakes + swimming classes. :P After all, she is a person in the first place and only secondly an artist.
Buuuuuuuut if it’s really just her label holding her back and making her write particular stuff then I’m absolutely on your side! This whole situation is pretty difficult to judge from here and if you remember the link from You+Me I’d love to watch that interview so that I can get a more concrete view on that whole subject #FreeP!nk

That has always been one of my questions - why does she sing with so much gusto LIVE, but never in studio albums? She rarely has a prolonged note or high notes in albums.
With rose ave you could really hear her voice soar.
She better kick Max Martin.
Anyway, I hope she performs with Grace Slick... That would be epic.

Yes she wants to sell her products but unlike many others, she’s still far from being a sellout and no matter what she does, there’s always a balance that she maintains which allows her great benefits of both worlds. She’s popular yet credible and her position gives her a voice which is not only loud enough to be heard - but which is also respected and trusted among millions of people.
Sooo I’m not saying that experimenting automatically leads to flopping or that she should stick with this sound for the next 30 years. But leaving her strong signature sound behind is a high risk which she apparently doesn’t want to make…..yet! And which she probably got good reasons for - which we can only speculate cause she's most likely never gonna tell us.
But it is definitely gonna happen in the future and for now, I’d say we just need to be more patient with her and simply trust her instincts. After all, it is them which even brought her this far

I was also listening to her commentaries on Spotify and she really was very proud of TTAL. She loves Greg Kurstin too. I don't think TTAL was bad, just that she's capable of much more.

i'd love her to ditch greg (unless they come out with something great like he did with Hello and Million Years Ago--not one of his generic productions) and max martin. i think a new creative team would highly benefit her tbh...but i'm sure she won't, as she said herself how "comfy" she is

that's the thing: she hasn't really evolved and that's what i was used to with her. you're right, i was there since day 1, so it is a little disheartening to see how she is held back... and boy, greg kurstin's "strategy" for the try cover and this:

really has me fuming a bit! i love IDBY, but it seems like pink tried to make it sound less of a lounge song and i would have welcomed that A LOT!!
see, it's not just my wild imagination that thinks she's been put on hold creatively. honestly, as much as i love m!ss and tt (and those are my two top favorite pink albums), i wouldn't want her to repeat those. i want her to evolve and it seems like she can't with greg and max. she needs new blood or her old team back that really just made music with her without an agenda to make it super duper cute for the masses. i get a couple bops here and there, but they don't have to be run-of-the-mill either... even her fun party songs are allowed to evolve. i wouldn't call funhouse a party song because the lyrics are kind of sad, but damn: it really works perfectly as one and that bridge is incredible!
if she's content with being lazy and not giving a damn about her art, then that's cool. she's still a fantastic human being. it's just sad that her songs sound like they're not really hers. i don't know who it was but someone said a while ago: if someone else sang those songs pink herself wouldn't even listen to them twice. and i think the person was right. i really wouldn't listen to most of them either if it wasn't for pink.
about the you+me interview: i'd have to check, but maybe someone else finds the links i was talking about quicker. i think those were print interviews (maybe a video too).

TTAL does have some really great songs on it though. It's just not as solid as Funhouse or I'm Not Dead. Try, Just Give Me A Reason, The Truth About Love, and Beam Me Up are all amazing. Then you have the bonus tracks, which were really good. Timebomb, Chaos & Piss, Is This Thing On?, and Run were all great as well. I think she could've done a better track listing though. Like I would've taken off Walk of Shame, Where Did The Beat Go, and Here Comes the Weekend in favor of Chaos & Piss, Is This Thing On and Timebomb.

Walk of Shame and WDTBG are my favourites from the album! Here Comes the Weekend can definitely go and it can take True Love with it
