Using "legal" tax deductions in not paying millions of dollars worth of taxes isn't an excuse. Those loopholes are beyond disgusting and is part of the wealth disparity problem; the rich aren't paying their fair share of the pie, when economically, they're more than capable of doing so.
Even when squandering a billion dollar net loss, Trump still walked away with millions in the bank and no income taxing to show for it. That's disgusting on every level possible. Part of Trump's stump speech and platform is based off some cheap knockoff right-version of populism (I know, beyond laughable, right?). It's like him talking about trade and outsourced jobs, but who had his material made overseas instead of stateside? Who used the H-2A or H-2B visas, depending on the type of work done, to hire non-Americans to work jobs at extremely low wages? Stifling the job market, aided the unemployment rate, and contributed to the deterioration of our nation's infrastructure from the lack of financial contribution through taxes? Don The Con is something else. Reagan and his crappy trickle-down economics is still causing headaches today. Cutting the wealthy some slack in hopes it pays off for the middle and lower class has proven to not work.
A look at how the wealthy paid taxes for decades. Very noticeable change at the start of the Ronald Reagan era. Very noticeable drop in tax rates during Republican-led presidencies.
