I'm not expecting her to do super well this era. I'm thinking 80K-120K for the opening week for the album, but then again we haven't heard anything yet. But after CMB's modest lead single performance I'm not too enthusiastic.
CMB was a lead single for a Greatest Hits album. It actually did really well for itself, I feel like. PLU was the one that performed disappointingly. But, that was mainly because of lack of promotion more than anything else.
I honestly have no idea what to expect with her album sales I guess it depends on the lead single. One thing about Kelly is that her first week sales have been pretty consistent throughout her whole career, taking into account the decline in record sales. I'm hoping for 150k, I think that would be great.
If she does the right amount of promo (like for WIR (in 2013 ofc), both the lead single and the album will do well. I am really happy she's kinda doing this sort of surprise release which is the new trend right now.

Where's the surprise though? She's been talking about this album since like 2013. She even announced the release (March/April) like 4-5 months before it comes out.
If you're referring to the single, she's even told us it's coming in January. Plus it's really not new or a trend because most artists drop lead singles without long announcements before-hand. If anything this is the opposite of a surprise because we've been waiting/hearing about it for years.
Well, that's why I've been saying that she saved the promo of WIR this year for her new album, makes sense. And... probably we only gonna have 1 single before the album as usual.
BTW another thing I noticed... We have MORE THAN A YEAR without fights in the base we need newbies and we need them as rooster fighters.

CMB its longevity, they didn't know when to put out the next one I wonder how things would have played out if they released PLU first and CMB second.
I'm so proud of Kelly and her label/management/etc for WIR though, everything was perfect. Amazing record, the promo was on point, and its success reflects how organized it all was. Would have been nice if she promoted it overseas this year though, or did something instead of putting red ribbons on random things in other countries But as far as the US is concerned, everything was on point.

Also, I saw 2 Broadway shows this weekend (typical for me) and Kelly's Citizen ad is in all the playbills. It's the same crappy one with the GH photo, but it was still nice to see her.
THEN I decided to walk by the Citizen store in Times Square and look what I saw:
