OMG, I was gone for the weekend and come back to so much excitement. Totally forgot Kellz as starting her tour this weekend. What do y'all think of the show? I'm glad the show I'm going to will be at night. The day show looks a little lack luster.
I am LOVING the full version of BOY. Totally forgot she hasn't been singing the full version.
I will say that I heard a lot of people talking about Dark Side this weekend that are not even Kelly fans. One of my friends that really dislikes Kelly, told me he thinks Dark Side is brilliant. They need to promote it more! People would fall in love with it.
Oh, and looks like we are updating our info? JT, male, Philadelphia, US
Does anyone know what she is doing with Dark Side on the tour? Looks like it's in the middle of the set list. But, is she doing the same thing from the last tour? I'm hoping she does something a little special since it's the current single.
Am enjoying her updated Because of You very much...hopefully she smooths out her kinks...tad harsh, don't y'all think? But the key change is life. A key change at all is life in any song, tbh.
Kelly Clarkson: "I'm Too Lazy to Try to Be a Star"
When it comes to stars who seem really down-to-earth, Kelly Clarkson' s right up there. Even though she's a global pop superstar who's sold millions of albums, she still seems like a regular chick -- and she says that's because she's too lazy to try to be anything else.
Kelly tells ABC News Radio that the reason fans always tell her she reminds them of their sister or their cousin is partly due to American Idol . "I was in their houses, like, every week," she points out. "I think that alone, and just my personality...I've always been very laid back. I'm very much a Texan at heart, like, I don't really put fame on a platter. I don't care." She adds, "I've never been fazed by [fame], and I think fans like the whole fact that I'm not unattainable."
That "unattainable" quality is something that Kelly just doesn't have an interest in cultivating. "There are some stars that are [like that], and that's really pretty and great, but it would just be a lot of work for me to try and do that," she laughs. "I'm very lazy. I don't wanna do that. I'd just rather be myself, and if people like it, that's cool. And if you don't, that's cool."
One way that Kelly displays her personality is through Twitter; she loves being able to speak to her fans directly about anything she wants to discuss. Although at first she thought of the social networking service as "narcissism gone very badly," she soon came around. "I think it's cool that I have a direct line to them," she says. "There's no middleman confusing anything. If somebody wants to ask me something, ask me directly and I can answer it. That's priceless."
Kelly kicked off her tour with The Fray this past Saturday. She and the band will be on the road together through September, and then she'll take off for appearances in Australia and the U.K. http://wixx.com/news/articles/2012/j...-to-be-a-star/
Though Kelly Clarkson's Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) remains in current rotation only in the AC format, it's still the most played song from an American Idol act. Kelly's Dark Side and Casey Abrams' Get Out are also getting significant AC play.
The American Idol Top 10

2. Kelly Clarkson, Dark Side

My favorite memory would probably be when I was performing "Natural Woman." I realized that I actually wanted to do this. I had been kind of unsure if it was worth it- to make everything in my life public, because the Enquirer and Globe had already started in on [my family]. And I was on stage and people were yelling for me, and it was kind of a peaceful moment. And I realized: this is what I want, and it's all worth it."

What the critics thought:
Quote:
Kelly Clarkson up next. We see a clip of her tossing around tools like a sitcom character. Madame Foreman, a show about a no-nonsense, female construction boss, overcoming great odds and great doubts to make it in this workaday world. Her wacky best friend, Gayle, provides a lot of laughs. "No, Gayle, I won't date Larry." "Why not? He drives a Camaro!" "Gayle, you'd date a guy in a Camry!" (laugh track)
Anyway, here comes Kelly in her Blues Brothers outfit. "Natural Woman" is her tune. I was hoping for "Rawhide", but this'll do. Kelly gives a highly soulful rendition. Big, high note. Lots of energy. Snappy fedora. Great job. Her stalker from last week bounds up onstage at the end. Is this guy the new Tamika? I think he finds Kelly to be more "campy" than hot. I get the feeling he wants to try on her clothes.
Randy and Paula like her. Big surprise. Simon says she's a great singer. That's a better endorsement than any of the garbage I can offer up. Seacrest says Kelly made him feel like a natural woman for the first time. Frat houses across the country explode with snide comments. http://www.americanidol.com/archive/...1/20020723.php

Next up is Kelly "Take Time To Know Her" Clarkson. Black and Decker narrate to us during her clip show that the home-building process made Kelly homesick because her dad's a contractor. We see her measuring and building stuff, acting like she actually knows what she's doing, which she just might. She runs around dorkily while waving a hammer. Awww.
Kelly hits The Octagon of Judgment to sing "Natural Woman." So, of course, she does that thing where the woman dresses like a man, but does it in such a way as to enhance how much of a woman she really is. She's wearing a white dress shirt that's tied up to show a little bit of her torso, a really, really wide black tie, black flared pants with a red belt, and a black fedora. Are red belts in now, too? I keep seeing them on the contestants.
Kelly goes into her belting mode, and there's just no stopping her. It does make me wonder what she'll do if she ends up having to choose a song that doesn't lend itself to Aretha-style delivery. Kelly separates herself from Ryan Starr by showing that, unlike Ryan, she does have an upper range. She pulls out a sustained high note out of nowhere. It starts off flat, but she corrects it very quickly. It brings everybody up on their feet cheering when she pulls it off. Then as she approaches the end of the song, we see a boy standing at the edge of the stage with flowers. Black and Decker call for security, but when we pan back, I can see somebody standing there right at the edge of the stairs that lead up to the stage, so this was obviously planned. I don't think Kelly knew it was happening, though. She laughs and gives the guy a hug as he hands her the flowers. And we all thought Justin (Eeeeeee!) would be the first one to get the crazy stalkers. http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com...nts.php?page=6

You know your show is in trouble when the contestants have taken a backseat to the judges. Save for Kelly's rendition of ''Natural Woman'' (that girl sure does like Aretha!), the performances Tuesday night were average overall and occasionally hideous.
Of course, Justin has way too much spark; someone has got to put that insanely cocky boy in his place. ''I really respect your opinion, but what did you guys think?'' he said after Simon tried to put him in his place. And then the next night he was all apologetic, saying ''I meant it only in the best of ways.'' Whatever, buddy. Your first audition rocked, but Ducka-Ducka-Ducka has kicked your butt every performance since then. http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,330326,00.html
