A new single isn't needed until January. I see WMN going back to #1 when airplay topples, and during the Christmastime when digital sales SKYROCKET; so ONLY GIRL will be around for a while.
Also, I see S&M doing the best -- it's already a hit in the making, why waste it? Just follow it and if it flops then rush-release that 'automatic smash that everyone is so sure of' that is Cheers...not that I whole-heartedly agree.
Cheers won't flop if they release it correctly. They just need to wait until WMN is truly done on radio bc by then stations will want a new Rihanna single to play...same went for Katy and now look at how well Firework is doing.
ALL of the critics and fans have pegged S&M as the hit though, and DEFJAM now knows this as it debuted at #53 on the HOT 100. That's higher than ROCKSTAR 101, WE RIDE, and even some of your favs 1st singles.
