I personally would've never made it a single, but it would've made more sense as a 4th or 5th, I agree. Like what were they thinking?

Why do people feel Carrie needs achieve new highs? She's done it all, she has nothing to prove and she's paid her dues to I think we all need to stop worrying. She's releasing quality music and that's all I want.

who said anything about achieving new highs? this era has been botched, especially with the lead single choice. and don't tell me that smoke break is the best storyteller has to offer because it very clearly isn't.

Asides from single choices, the only think wrong with this era was HB & CB's music videos.

She's promoted at almost every award show since its release, including a high gig performance at the Grammys, been having the best tour of her career and had quite the unique campaign leading up to it. Not to mention we've gotten her first Country AirPlay #1 since Blown Away in 2012 a which I would say is a huge success.

Smoke Break got huge acclaim once it was released, and was definitely a risk. I for one am happy that she took a risk instead of releasing a formulatc single like Renegade Runaway as lead. Carrie's a mom now and almost eleven years into her career. I really wouldn't say Storyteller is an awful era, a few mistakes yes.. but some are acting as if it's a Warrior/Britney Jean/Bionic mess.

TBH - This

Even tho I hate SB ... The only thing really making this era botched is the music videos esp. when Carries whole acclaim is partly due to her storytelling music videos aside from obviously her talent / vocals.
