Namie's Wild & Kumi's Taboo better be in the top 10. Those songs >>>>>>>>>>>
I wouldn't be terribly upset if Taboo didn't make top 10 (I gave it a ten, but I truly still wanted more of a chorus or hook), but if Wild doesn't, at least, make it pass these next few rounds up to the top 10, I will bust heads...

Yeah, Taboos chorus is kinda weak but the whole song is amazing , Wild is one of my all time favorite Namie songs, everything about it *****
Okay, a little off-topic, but is anyone hear a fan of Nami Tamaki?
I have been since I saw her video for "Prayer". I was hooked when she started out-dancing several of the US/UK gorls. The song wasn't half-bad either (still one of my favorites from her...). I'm more of a fan after hearing "LADY MIND", seeing the video, and hearing the B-side "START UP". Anyone else?
And of course originality isn't everything. Music simply has to be good. What helps Utada is that she too has a very distinct and beautiful tone.
Namie and Kumi's voices are way too boring for me. Which is fine if you can make up for it with interesting/catchy melodies and production, but for me they also fail in that department.
I think you need to hear more of Namie's & Kumi's stuff cause both have songs with catchy lyrics and excellent production. The songs from the rate don't really highlight that besides a select few.

Ayu's voice is mostly pleasant during My story - Secret eras. Don't try listening to her early stuff (like A song from xx..) or her newest stuff (Five, Party Queen...) if you're not familiar with her voice.

!!!
Easily in the top 10 for my favorite songs from each artist.

Hey guys, I want to get into Ayumi Hamasaki since I'm opening up into more J-Pop. Should I start with her first album and go from there or are there any albums/songs I should avoid?

I really don't think going with her first album is a good idea. I think A Best 2 Black/White would be a good place to start.
Replace BENI with Meisa though. A strange combination I know, but they're my favorite girls in J-pop ever!
I wish they were both on Avex though. That label is so flawless. I'm always a little jealous when I watch Ayu's or Kuu's amazing released and promo, while both CK and Meisa are on a flop label.
