I mean, realistically - she's performing everywhere, it's not a lack of promotion that's a problem it's a lack of connection to the listeners. I think the problem with this era is that it's the exact same stuff she's released for five albums straight.
Again, there's nothing wrong it's a very safe route to go. However, I feel she could've had a better single selection. 'Heartbeat' should've been the the lead single. No, it's not the biggest smash - but it was a completely different sound sonically for her when it came out and just would've kept some steam going. The only track on the album that could've been a full out smash, 'Chaser', should've been the second single. Carrie needs to let go of her pride, because 'Chaser' would've done well on pop and adult radio (If Thomas and Sam are there's no reason Carrie wouldn't).
I personally think 'What I Never Knew I Always Wanted' would've been a great single selection. Make an emotional video, have a stellar performance it could've been her 'Someone Like You' / 'Piece by Piece' moment of the era.
