Zedd was a guest on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show last night, being interviewed and performing his latest single.
Zedd, having previously appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with Foxes, is one of Fallon's favorite current artists. "Everything he does I love, and so does America. Well, except for Lady Gaga's Artpop," Fallon joked during his monologue, causing a roar of laughter. The interview is below:
Fallon: Welcome back to the tonight show! Our next guest has a Platinum-selling single, a major tour, a top 20 and a top 10 hit on Billboard, and a single currently at number one on iTunes. Everyone, give it up for Zedd!
[Applause as Zedd doesn't walk out from behind the curtain on the right. Announcer Steve Higgins exits the secret door on the left.]
Fallon: What were you doing back there?
Higgins: You know... stuff.
[Laughter.]
Fallon: Get back to the podium. Anyway, everyone give it up for Zedd!
[Applause as Zedd walks out from behind the curtain. Zedd sits down in the chair to the left of the desk.]
Fallon: Welcome to the show!
Zedd: Thanks, glad to be here!
Fallon: So I understand your new single is titled "Slay."
Zedd: Correct.
Fallon: And it's currently number one.
Zedd: Yes, it broke the record for fastest time to number one after release, in 29 minutes.
[Applause.]
Fallon: The previous record was Problem in 37 minutes. Is she mad about this?
Zedd: No, we talked earlier and she's proud of me. She said she's planning on snatching the record back though!
[Slight laughter from the audience.]
Fallon: So tell me about the song. Why did you make it?
Zedd: Well, as you know, I wrote and produced songs for Lady Gaga's album Artpop. Aura, G.U.Y., and Donatella made it onto the album. Two songs that didn't make the cut were called Onion Girl and Temple. They were saved for Act II, but she and her team decided to keep Artpop a single release. There were more songs I wrote for the album; "Slay" is actually one of them. When I created the rough demo and played it for her, she was like, "I want this on your next album." She didn't even write vocals for it because she thought it was perfect.
Fallon: Did you expect this much success for the song?
Zedd: Not at all. Not even Clarity has seen this much success on iTunes, and it was huge. It is very strange that "Slay" is even number one. I could see top 10, but number one? I just have to thank my fans for helping "Slay" reach the top spot.
Fallon: So about your new album...
Zedd: Yeah?
Fallon: What's it called?
Zedd: Serenity. I decided to make a trilogy of albums. My next album after this one will have a similar-sounding name.
Fallon: When is it coming out?
Zedd: July 20th.
Fallon: Any news you can share about the album?
Zedd: It will feature lots of collaborations, including Lady Gaga, Ellie Goulding, Britney Spears, Foxes, Kesha, and more.
Fallon: Sounds like an album packed full of stars! Are singers like Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant going to be on the album?
Zedd: We're still working on the final track listing, but I believe they will!
Fallon: Now about your collaboration with Rihanna. Is it going to be a single?
Zedd: I don't know, it's up to her. I hope it will be, though! It's getting a lot of positive reception from critics. I think my remix of Medusa is getting a video edit, though.
Fallon: Alright, I think it's time for a commercial break. But before we go, I wanna ask you something.
Zedd: What do you want from me, Jimmy?
[Laughter.]
Fallon: Will you play Pictionary?
[Light applause.]
Zedd: Definitely!
[Full applause.]
Fallon: Stick around! Pictionary with Zedd after the break!
After the break, Zedd and Fallon were each on a different team with an audience member. Zedd went first, and he had to draw swimming. His partner did not guess it within the allotted time. Fallon had to draw a panther, which his partner guessed with 2 seconds left. Zedd's partner had to draw a Lady Gaga, and Zedd guessed it in 15 seconds. Fallon's partner had to draw a bowl of macaroni and cheese, but Fallon did not guess it correctly. The tiebreaker, in which both Zedd and Fallon drew airplanes, had Zedd's partner guessing it before Fallon's partner, with 5 seconds left to spare. Zedd's team, therefore won the game. Then, the show cut to commercial.
After the commercial break, Fallon announced Zedd again: "Ladies and gentlemen, performing Clarity and his new single Slay, Zedd!"
The performance was set against a backdrop showing the music video for "Clarity." It was performed with The Roots as a backing band with Zedd on keyboard. The first verse and second chorus of "Clarity" played, then after the final chorus, the song transitioned into "Slay." "Slay" was played for approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds. After "Slay," Zedd surprised everyone by performing a new song featuring Lady Gaga for 30 seconds, playing what's presumably the first verse. After the performance had finished, Fallon announced to the audience, "That was Zedd! Slay is available on iTunes now and Serenity on July 20th!"

"Slay" is now available on Spotify, iTunes, and Google Play.
Azealia Banks appeared on the latest episode of Queen Latifah's new talk show, in promotion of her new single, Vibes. To promote the single, Azealia did both an interview and a performance for Latifah and her audience. The episode garnered a typical 3.2 million viewers, which is the average for most of Latifah's talk show episodes. Azealia's performance was well received, as usual, and uploaded on the Queen Latifah Show YouTube channel where it has since gotten 500 thousand views within the amount of a few hours it has been up.
For the performance of Vibes, Azealia actually didn't wear Valentino this time and wore a peach colored Chanel Jersey dress with black sleeves. The dress went down to Azealia's knees and the sleeves started up at the neck of the dress and went and gripped tightly till the wrists of Azealia. Azealia's hair was all natural and was very Solange Knowles. The stage had a piano where a chip-n-dale style dancer was seen playing it in a matching peach tie and black pants. As he played, Azealia began to walk from the back of the stage to the front where she soon came to the mic. With the camera tightly zoomed in on her face as Azealia opened her eyes, Azealia began to sing Vibes, the original, as the piano played. All lights in the room were out except for the spotlight shining on Azealia and the piano. Azealia finished out the performance and received a standing ovation in which she gave a bow to. The interview then happened. The most important parts of the interview are below:
Q: Azealia Banks everybody! You're such a cool girl, you know?
A: Why thank you but I don't think I am. I'm just your average girl from Harlem that makes songs for people to like, you know?
Q: What was it like to get your first number one. How'd you feel?
A: It felt amazing. I worked my ass off last week. It feels like wow I finally have proven myself. I can take a relax and just chill now, you know? This week will be less hard hitting promo after promo after promo, you know? I want to take it a bit easier, now that I got that number one.
-
Q: Your album is coming next week! So soon! We're all excited here, what genres can we expect? Because we all know you like to try stuff out all the time.
A: This whole album is very trance, house, very 90s. Very Madonna, you know what I'm saying? I was heavily inspired by Flesh Tone by Kelis with this album and I can only hope to conquer a portion of the beauty that album had. I can only hope.
-
Q: So nice to have you, Azealia Banks everybody! Everyone at home be sure to buy Vibes on iTunes as well as her Remix EP for Vibes! Everyone in the audience, don't worry because you'll all be getting copies of Azealia on the cover of Vogue along with the Vibes Remix EP!

Namie Amuro Performs Latest Single
On The View + Short Interview
Monday Morning Japanese Singer Namie Amuro made her guest appearance on popular women’s talk show ‘The View’ to promote her latest single comeback single ‘Sweet Kisses’ with both a Girl Scout inspired performance & short interview with the panel!
Performance
The stage was lit up in a neon pink tone with 2 fake trees on street along with a lemonade stand, of course it was more mature looking and basically a desk. Sweet Kisses begins playing the backdrop turns into a suburban neighborhood as Namie lays on the lemonade stand dressed in a grey and white girl scouts outfit, hat and all as she starts singing and clapping in the air as her dancers come rolling out from behind the Stand and the trees. For the 1st verse Namie sits up on the stand kicking her feet and singing as her dancers go parading around the stage dancing while also selling their “Sweet kisses cookies” to the audience. Namie starts to get up now standing on the stand proud and tall as her dancers crowd around as if listening to Namie, she points out to the crowd “What you’ve been dreaming of” and 2 of her dancers pick out a male attendee from the audience and starts escorting him on stage. The chorus hits and Namie kicks everything off the desk as she stomps around before the male is sat on a seat infront of Namie as she drops low singing in his ear and gently touching his face. Pre-Chorus and Namie gets off the stand and starts dancing and singing to the crowd before turning to the guy and walking around him causally bending to sing to him and doing a few sexy moves. She dismisses him as her girls pull him sitting on the chair aside to do their own little chair dances as Namie goes around the stage being all seductive to the crowd before calling the guy back to her. Her girls restrain him and taunt him as Namie circles him before standing behind him singing in his ears, grabbing his head and even putting her leg over the chair on him. The bridge hits and all the girls line up into 2 lines on both sides of the chair as Namie goes on the stand and starts belching out her vocals as the stage lights up like the sun. The taunting part comes on and namie starts moving the stand as the girls moves in on the man seated snapping their fingers to the beat. Chorus hits and they get him on up and start throwing him into the mix of the choreography as Namie enjoys herself dancing on the stand, when the post-chorus hits Namie walks over to the guy before giving him a big hug for being a good sport!
Interview Sherri:So Namie it’s so nice to see you back on the road and promoting music again, it must feel so refreshing to perform again after taking such a long break now tell us after Sweet Kisses what’s next for this comeback?
Namie:Thank you thank you it’s so amazing to be back on American television doing what I love and that’s performing for an audience! And you know with this single I’ve really been able to bring out my inner sex kitten which is something I never did during my debut and boy have a been missing out *laughs*. Well as far as this single goes there’s still a music video that needs to be released and a few more performances here and there but after all said and done what’s next to come is my 2nd single which I’m sure people are excited to hear and of course working on releasing album #2!
Jenny:Speaking of music videos how is the video for Sweet Kisses coming along and what do you think we can expect this time around?
Namie: Actually they video has been filmed and edited and ready for upload we’re just working on the teasers to hype up the big reveal! My last video was for Ballerina it was such a visual wonderland with the fashion, scenery and graphics it was kinda like 50 videos in one and this time around I’m making sure to stay with one concept all the way through! As for expectations I’d say the video will contrast sweet and sour and will show both sexy and innocent me, just picture my AGT performance times 10
Whoopi: Now it seems you’re really letting loose this era with your sex appeal from looks of the performance, to the lyrics of the song and description of the video. Is this all a part of the album #2’s concept?
Namie: It definitely is part of the albums concept in fact this album embodies sex kitten and elegance from the first look of the cover to every single song on the CD. This isn’t me being a sell out or anything you know selling sex for profit, this is more of owning your sexy and using it at its best I mean why shame some of your best assets?
Mariah Carey was revealed yesterday as the covergirl of a famous fashion magazine, Elle. Carey posted on her Twitter the cover of the magazine with a link to the article. In the photo, Mariah Carey seems to be only using minimal makeup. The magazine cover has since gotten a lot of attention from the media and the GP because of Mariah's minimal makeup and no photoshop. "Mariah's minimal makeup really shows the features of her face !!" said one of Mariah's lambs. Celebrities like Kanye West and Celine Dion has stated their liking for the magazine cover due to the simplicity of the photoshoot. The hastag #mariahcareyelle has since trended worldwide on Twitter for 24 hours. A sneak peek for the interview in Elle Magazine upcoming issue has been issued down below:
Q: Mariah, you have a new album coming out tonight !! You said that it'll your darkest album yet. Why did you decide to make a "dark" themed album ? MC: It's something personal, I guess. This is the anger and sorrows that I've suppressed all these years and it is all thrown in this one album. This is my darker autobiographical album which the fans and the GP has never seen before.
Q: Britney recently stated in a recent interview that she's sorry that she has shaded you. What's your view on that matter ? MC: I personally felt grateful that Britney had said those words. I was also guilty too because my darker self, Bianca when on shading her buzz single. That's how the so called "feud" between us started. I have heard her latest single and I must say, that's one of her best singles released this year !!
Q: You have been chosen to be the ambassador of The Ostrich Pillow and one of your album tracks is the theme song for Stand Up to Cancer recently. How did you feel about that happening ? MC: I felt so honored to be quite honest. The Ostrich Pillow is one of my favorites since it is something portable and you'll be able to sleep too. The design of the pillow is so cute (laughs). As for having one of my album tracks to be the theme song for Stand Up to Cancer, I was so emotional when I found out that they have chosen "I'm Not Done" to be the theme song. Well my father Alfred Roy died due to cancer back in the early 2000s (*wipes tears*). I'm glad that it'll be featured on their commercial alongside with the instrumental of "Libidinous Dream" too.
Q: Insiders sources are saying that you will return acting again this year in a blockbuster movie. Is it true ?? MC: Yes, it's true !! I'll be acting in a zombie apocalypse blockbuster movie that will be finished by next year. More information about the movie will be given in the next few days.
Q: Well, it's nice to have you here on Elle Magazine. Please do buy Mariah's Lead single "Libidinous Dream" on iTunes and her album which will be released tonight.
A poster of Mariah's latest album cover is also included in this edition of Elle Magazine to promote her album. Marketing experts and critics deem this as Elle's biggest issue in years, due to the hype surrounding it.
Namie Amruo Visit MTV.
Talks 2nd Single, New Album, Music Video & F(x)
During her Monday Morning promotional activities Namie Amuro paid a visit to MTV Studios in Time Square for a short interview in which she dished on her upcoming 2nd studio album, her next single, Sweet Kisses Video and her newly and first signed artist, Girl Group f(x). Bellow’s the gist of the interview!
On her upcoming follow Up Single to ‘Sweet Kisses’
“After I end my promotions for my current single “Sweet Kisses” I plan on releasing my next single off the album which I’ sure will have people talking about it for days. This single is definitely different from Sweet Kisses and any of my past singles for that matter, it’s a very rebellious and fun song, the type you listen to with your friends on a Friday night while out drinking and partying and at the same time the song can be listened to after a bad break up, it’s kind of like therapy for the broken hearted and empowerment for those living life. I think what makes this song special is that it goes back in fourth 2 different point of views like Sweet Kisses but more abrupt and also the fact that this is the kind of song that take 2 to tango if you know what I mean”
On Her Upcoming Untitled 2nd Studio Album
“My upcoming 2nd album is still in the works but more along the lines of the finishing touches you know I decided last minute to go back and revise the track listing because I want this album to flow and tell a story from beginning, middle and end because I feel that that kind of order keeps the listener drawn in if each song smoothly transitions to the next. The concept and sound for the album has already been chosen as well and don’t be fooled by my singles, Ballerina has no association with this album what so ever and my current single Sweet Kisses does not reflect the sound of the album at all, in fact it’s one of the songs I wanna cut from it. This album is another attempt of mine to bring old school music back with a modern touch like my previously scrapped album was suppose to but this is more way back than that one. In fact one of the genre’s of music that the album is heavily influenced on is electro jazz… but that’s probably all I can say besides we have pretty big things planned around the time of the albums released which is still unknown….to the public that is
On Sweet Kisses Music Video
“A teaser is on its way don’t worry just keep your eyes out MTV cause you’ll be the first to know! I don’t wanna spoil much about the video since I love making everything such a surprise to my fans but for the video you can expect to see me take on the role of both a dictator and a girl scout, the video’s a mix between a parody/comedy and action film with of course a bit of Amuro in it! My inspiration behind the video is Charlie and the chocolate factory meets terminator, I know it sound so weird but when it’s released you’ll be the Judge ha!
On Signing her First Artist, F(x) To Her Label
“I think this is pretty much the highlight of my comeback so far haha, it kind of certifies that I’m serious about being independent and running my own label. I chose F(x) to sign because this girls are seriously creative and have youth and ambition in them I see the fire in their eyes to want to cross over just like I did and It would make me so happy to help them accomplish that. For their debut album I left much of the artistic over-view to them to see what they could come up with and they surprised me with the whole “Chimera Hearts” theme like seriously. I think my most input with them was probably performance and the tracklisting, they all chose songs they wanted in the album but I only picked one of their choices plus some of my favorites and as far as performances go I basically planned out and executed theme of course with the approval of the group. They’re so fun and relaxed to work with I really hope they see success through with their single “Jet” and album “Chimera Hearts”

It seems like Dolly couldn’t resist another chance to cause some controversy, despite being behind bars. The “Not Through Loving You” singer took to the inside of the walls of Los Angeles County Jail and decided that she wasn’t going to take her charges lying down.
Gathering the women in the unit she was in, Dolly began to twerk hard and encouraged the girls to join her in. When the women were told, “That’s nasty ain’t not one want to see that”. The prisoners just started to twerk harder.
Inside sources said Dolly was a maniac on the floor, whipping her hear and really giving it her all. Looks like Miley Cyrus taught her Godmother well. Officers attempted to use their tazers on Dolly who apparently is more plastic than flesh and was unfazed.
Eventually, the girls were rounded up and Dolly was the only one dancing. When she realized that, she sighed and went back to her cell, just like nothing had happened. Hopefully, the Dolly situation resolves itself as rumors are floating around that River Rose Records isn’t pleased with her antics and are already considering rush releasing her album to fulfill her contract.
Controversy by design? Marketing Ploy? Who knows, but stay tuned for more breaking Dolly Parton news and make sure you pick up her latest single, “Not Through Loving You” available on iTunes.
