Ehhh I have a conundrum.

I want dreads and I've been growing my hair out for about a year now but I deadass don't think its gonna look right. My hair texture is very fine (Hispanic/Irish/barely black dad) & I had it twisted couple months ago to see how it would look but it just doesn't really do anything for me. I made her take the twists out immediately

I'm thinking it's not kinky enough? I've been using Mane N Tail and other sh*t to dry it out and make it less fine but the results are meh. Any suggestions?

If you don't have the hair for it, just let it go and choose a different hairstyle tbh.

I had that since I was like 12. I wanted to try something new a couple years ago but damn, I guess it's just not poppin for me. I'm close to letting it go.

Yeah I've never heard of anyone changing the texture of their hair to make it thicker/tougher.

It's just not what your hair does naturally.

Speaking of hair, my mother sent me some combs and shea butter. I haven't been this happy in a while. Vermont can be unkind to black hair. The weather dries our hair out and they don't really sell stuff for us. I'm just letting my hair grow out and once it becomes a certain length, I will do something creative with it. I want to define my curls a bit more.
