well not mediocre, but she is still the worst actress of the main cast, by far 
But yeah she did exceed my expectations, and I like her character

Look, i know y'all stan for Gaga but if you honestly think she's doing a good job and is a good actress, i feel sorry for you. Stop being biased.
I have absolutely nothing against her, i even said that she could potentially be amazing in Hotel before the season started. She's an amazing artist when it comes to music, but she is a mediocre actress, AT BEST.

Gaga has been all over the place and denying that is bordering on delusional.
She's great at times, mediocre at other times, and then every now and then she has a Taissa-level tragic scene. But overall she's like a 7.5/10.

Uh, what being her fan has to do with anything?
If a lot of casual viewers and those guys who review each episode find her not awful in the show, then her first big acting role is a success for her, no? She didn't destroy what was left of the show and it's reputation with her awful acting so that's good.
Her acting doesn't make me cringe (except some parts from episode 1 and 4) = for me she's an ok actress who can be very good in the future if she decides to become a serious actress and works very hard.
And there was no way she wouldn't look bad with a cast like that. How many shows have such an exceptional and talented cast?

It is illogical to think that she will be perfect when she is hardly new in this. We will see as the series progresses. stop being so hard on it. peace

I'm not saying she destroyed the show. And i'm not saying she is AWFUL. But I see comments from Little Monsters in here like, 'Gaga CRIED, YAAAS Queen, QUEEN of acting, GIVE HER AN EMMY NOW'.
Can you even tell a good actress?
She is so bland and one-dimensional. She delivers every line the EXACT same way, with the EXACT same tone. The way she takes 20 breaks between each line, her monotonic delivery, her emotionless acting. She lucks charisma.
And her facial expressions are a MESS.
Maybe all these have to do with the fact that Ryan created the character of The Countess BASED on Lady Gaga. Maybe she could show off her acting in a more challenging role.
No wonder Ryan has her in a sex scene every other 5 minutes.

Ok, i will give you that since it's completely true. AHS probably has the most talented cast a show has ever seen(with the exception of John). So yeah, i guess it's so hard not to look bad compared to the rest. But they could have avoided that.
Ryan should have gotten her a small part in this, where she could get herself comfortable first, and then maybe have her as a regular in the next season. He kind of threw her in the deep from the get go.
And the fact that she is kind of replacing Jessica Lange adds to all that.

Unrelated, but I'm rewatching Freak Show right now and Emma is kinda slaying me. Why was everyone so upset with her acting? So far from what I've rewatched she's been solid. Better than some of the other trash this season. People just love to hate queen Chanel

AHS has a lot of problems and Gagz is definitely not the main one. It's not like she called Ryan and said that she wants to play in all 13 episodes and oversaturate the season with her presence.
Except for the last episode there is not much of her and it still feels like that the show has an ensemble cast and not Gaga as a HBIC

Ok, I finally have time to watch the past seasons, just watched the first ep of Murder House, and OMG  I really liked it, I don't understand some things but i guess it'll be explained in the next eps

Look at her final episode in her scene with Jimmy. She had her best AND worst line delivery all season in that one scene. When she said "I'm sorry, I hate hurting you", I actually got emotional, & then the rest of the scene was TRAGIC.
But the role was meant for Taissa so maybe Emma was trying to emulate that!

I'm only on episode 5 so I haven't gotten there yet, but still The first few bits she's been really good. At least it shows that she is capable of doing roles other than the bitch

I agree with you! Hotel is great, and the series is no stranger to mediocre acting (Taissa), but I think some people are getting ahead of themselves. All of Gaga's scenes so far have either been sex scenes, or her playing the poker-faced, enigmatic woman. The only episode we've seen any range was the most recent (Room 33) and that was limited. Nothing against her and I've always been indifferent to her joining AHS, but her acting is not even comparable to some of her co-stars (Lily, Chloe etc).
