This is my review, published to promote in Italy. Unfortunately it's translated with google, so it could sound strange: Enjoy
Review of the new album of Janet Jackson's "Unbreakable," due out October 2, 2015, and eleventh record effort of Pop Icon
Living my life
The Way That I hope
Is leading me to
The great forever
I want to start this musical journey with this powerful and emblematic phrase, it comes from this very hard. A trip, just like that, a trip now in its 11th stage, a route marked by successes, awards, mastery, but also obstacles, enemies and defeats.
unbreakable
Janet Jackson after an absence of 7 years (since the last solo album), has decided to publish today his eleventh studio album entitled "Unbreakable".
The blackout lasted years was broken on May 3, with the announcement in a video by the same Janet, that voice warm and relaxed talked about new music, a new world tour, and a new movement. In a short time the promises were kept, Jackson is back with a tour of great impact and success, which is already covering the United States, and which has already added two legions.
The first single from the album, "No Sleeep" was released in late June, and still sits at No. 1 on the Adult R & B chart American, for the sixth consecutive week, becoming the single longest of his career in this ranking, overcoming "I Get So Lonely" that the Adult R & B had stationed five weeks in a row.
Before going into the discovery of the disk, we would like to stress one essential point, perhaps the most important, "Unbreakable" is the first album entirely produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis since "All For You" (also "Damita Jo" had undergone several contamination). It is the reunion with manufacturers who in the end were able to make it stand out most of all the quality of Janet during his amazing career, and who baked with her all the most successful album "Control", "Rhythm Nation 1814 "" Janet "," The Velvet Rope "and" All For You ".
During this journey over thirty years, this artist has managed to remain true to itself, without forsaking the change, both in style and image, as well as the content of his music. Unexpectedly, this new album will be able to find Janet in a new perspective, while maintaining a strong link with the sounds and past successes that have made it so legendary.
I want to hold your hand, and I want to take you on this musical journey, that has managed to surprise even a fan of Janet like me, who follows and admires the way from "Control" was ...! You will not regret it
01) Unbreakable: the title track is just the opening track on the disc. Janet and her team have decided to release it in time for the start of pre-order the disc. It is a midtempo that sounds like a real gratitude to his fans, to his friends, to the people who always believed in her and she never abandoned even in the most difficult periods. A hymn to the indestructible ties, and unconditional love. Vocally secure, in this R & B song with a retro sound very refined, Janet seems to be radiated by a new light, and very grateful for all the love he received. The last part of the song opens to one side of the disc ... with an invitation to listen to this project that promises really exciting.
02) BURNITUP! Missy Elliott: the first part of the journey that begins with the uptempo. "BURNITUP!" Is the song that also opens up the world tour, this is an uptempo-style Janet, who sees supported by Queen music HipHop Missy Elliott. From the first listen it is impossible to stand still, the bass-line that accompanies the piece is defiling and poisonous, as well as the chorus absolutely pervasive.
When the DJ play this we gon 'dance like no one's watching
Hey Mr DJ bump the track and you will not turn it up
I'ma dance all night and I do not care who's out there watching us
Just give me that fire, I'ma show you how to burn it up
The song is from the club, and urges the DJ to raise up the volume. Janet and Missy with this piece want to inflame the club. Surely it is a worthy heir of uptempo grandiose as "All Nite (Do not Stop)", or the more recent "Feedback" (only real hit from "Discipline").
The real big problem of the track is that it is probably in contrast with radio trends of the moment, and despite the energy that transmits, perhaps little marketable nowadays. The song has been served as the second single, and will be remixed by the famous British singer-songwriter and producer Naughty Boy. For a fan of Janet this piece is pure drug and vitamin after years of absence from the scene. But it turns out to be a bit 'isolated within the project.
03) Damnn Baby: is uptempo second disk, and it is here that we find a Janet decidedly more contemporary and suited to the attack to the American Urban Radio. The sound is captivating and creamy, and could remember the productions "fashionable" nowadays, of course with a touch of class!
From this song they were taken hashtags that anticipated the album as #ConversationInACafe. Jackson in the breakdown of the song mentions herself, taking the famous "break it down" to "I Get So Lonely." A song that in my view would have a good chance of becoming an R & B hit overseas, certainly the most poignant track number 2.
04) The Great Forever: a musical connoisseur knows that a hard "conceptual" is consumed by listening to the first track to the last, to understand the train of thought, the intrinsic message, the concept. This is a basic rule for all (or almost) Albums Janet Jackson.
Although track 1 and 2 had been revealed before the release, I just decided to play the disc in one breath, in a first listening session. Just to this track number 4, anticipated a few weeks ago by an anonymous snippets, the journey within this album became much more intense and mind-boggling.
The first attack feeling the beat is to find ourselves in front of a song clean, decisive, "timeless" timeless ... there follows a real thrill back on the attack voice of Janet, who vocally really sounds like her brother, as if duet with him, in an almost haunted, between life and death.
The tone of his voice returning female during the chorus, which I have proposed a preview opening of the review. We have seen (although in different ways) to this transformation voice in songs of the past as "You" or "Love Will Never Do (Without You)", a very valuable feature of his voice.
"The Great Forever" is clearly a musical tribute to the legendary and beloved brother who died, and also a kind of sequel to the indictment against the media ("Scream")
it might sound strange to you What you think it do not mean nothing at all
it's still…
Use your expert criticism? Then maybe you could get a life
A song scratchy and soft at the same time, mature and aware, as I said before "timeless". A midtempo Pop, perhaps one of the most solid pop songs of Janet from many, many years ...! The journey through this album changed irrevocably with the end of this hearing, it becomes a discovery of a new Janet, true to its roots, but very innovative. Leave you breathless ...
05) Shoulda Known Better: already early in the tour, "Shoulda Known Better" is a midtempo pop song that takes us through his text to a social awareness. It was a very long that Janet did not speak of what happens in the world, too long perhaps no longer had launched social messages through his songs. A trademark of the family, through the platform to succeed in art and music to bring the message of hope. The result is a compelling sequel to what is certainly one of the great songs of his discography "Rhythm Nation". The problems today are unfortunately always the same, and Janet back to reiterate the importance of not forgetting the forgotten.
Part Of The Revolution, Ready For Real Solutions, We Will not Accept Excuses, We tolerate no Abuses, Cause I Do not Want My Face To Be, That Poster Child For Being Naive, Why Why Why, I Guess I Shoulda Known Better
A key piece of this project, not only for production, but for the message. Really nice to be a pop star of 49 years, once again at the forefront of social issues. It would be a relief if the younger generation would take notes ...
06) After You Fall: take a turn decidedly melancholy and introspective our journey. "After You Fall" it is the first ballad of the disc. The song is accompanied by just piano, and displays a vocal maturity Janet definitely surprising. Forget the sensual songs and whispered, in this passage Janet, with a disarming calm, embraces us with emotions and vibrant warmth.
We are certain that this is an autobiographical song that speaks most likely of several dramas suffered by the death of his brother, through the media attack just after the Superbowl, to tears of love. A song lived, intense, and really touching, that makes us think and rethink the moments of darkness, of loss and loneliness.
07) Broken Hearts Heal: rekindle the light, and we find the sun after the long night night, this midtempo retro flavor is a declaration of love for Michael, though in "The Great Forever" was a tribute speech, in this piece the ' homage is family, and wrote explicitly in the text.
Janet opens a window on the most intimate moments, the memories, the childhood spent singing with his brother, and sheds light on their deep bond, their mutual protection (into adulthood), in a very complicated family, and front unscrupulous media. The song is sad but joyful at the same time, continue with the melody it becomes more and more insistent turning into a colorful musical hug to the missing person.
I guess you feel I miss you much
There were days like never before
We can not laugh till we cry together
But our love is not no material thing
And shall I see you in the next life!
08) Night: is even more intense the light, and this takes us back to a Janet a little 'more disco-dance. "Night" is an uptempo refined, with a beat sensual, chic and sophisticated electronics. A piece that winks at his audience more LGBT, a rousing song that could easily link to songs like "Thorb" or more recently "Rock With U".
Janet sounds joyful, dreamy, happy in this piece by Studio 54, with a bass line very smooth and delicate, never intrusive, and a voice treated with an echo that is very reminiscent of the sounds of 70's disco 80s. Delicate and divine ... grandly versatile. The dance is steeped in a shower of rain ...
09) No Sleeep with J.Cole: ... the rain that opens up much more intimate atmosphere, those given off by the first single "No Sleeep". The passage we have already spoken widely, it is a slowjam that embraces you, and that you hear after so many drugs. Not for nothing the song was remarkably durable in Urban American charts. Not a single muscle and squealed as could be "Feedback", ready for the mainstream audience, but a single niche, perfect to rekindle the passion to Janet by a more mature audience. The intimate atmosphere are accompanied by a rapper as J.Cole, one of the strongest of the new generation, and always look forward to pay homage to the past of R & B music.
10) Dream Maker / Euphoria: opens the second part (side two) disc with this midtempo, dreamy, a bit 'bizarre at times, that brings to mind the Motown sound. It is also a great album made of musical tributes, this "Unbreakable" Janet. The music flows as a sort of intermission, and there seems to be destined to become a single. Nice and smooth, it makes us slip into ...
11) 2 B Loved: here we are again in an area Pop'n'B, and Janet's voice reminds us a little 'famous hits like "All For You" or "Does not Really Matter". Also in the production we are the classic midtempo Jam / Lewis. The song is lighter and carefree, finally a love song more casual "Everybody Needs To 2 B Loved". Certainly in terms of "power" it can not be compared to the above, but it certainly is a welcome return to Janet Pop'n'B.
12) Take Me Away: always the pop audience already showed great appreciation for this "Take Me Away". A song that releases energy from every pore, vital, simple and immediate, immersive rhythm. Pop the clean, simple, and clear, what led her to be the most loved by the Americans before the disaster Superbowl (and a fake respectability razzistoide). The song is one of them to listen to while traveling, with the window open, the arm out, and the air between your fingers ...
Take me away from here
Just somewhere where we disappear
Take me away from here
Oh somewhere where love has no fear
I am known to be more oriented towards the R & B, but with this song purely Pop, Janet me quite recaptured, and after several plays has become one of my favorites on the disc. The voice, the harmonies, producing light and carefree, the beat light accompanied by an electric guitar that closes the final.
13) Promise: back atmospheres series, and the sounds are surprisingly Latinate in this "Promise", provided in the American edition almost like an interlude. It seems to be a complete song, and it seems that UK edition will be provided in its entirety.

14) Lessons Learned from now fans of the Velvet Rope was able to feel at home again. They are acoustic guitars and a voice of Janet as never mood to join us in this piece. A track once again in very deep lyrics.
Janet has always been a true champion of feminism and women's self-determination, and in particular accounting for black women, doubly penalized in everyday life. His imprint has given birth to artists such as Beyonce and Mary J. Blige, both rated as always at that empowering female that is so needed in a modern America, but in some ways still very backward. This step of female independence Janet had already stated in his album "Control", and the feminist discourse continued throughout his career. In "Lessons Learned" we speak of abuse towards women
Lessons learned, the past know blackberries strong
After all the lessons learned
We do not know which way we turn Should
What makes her want to stay
So strong
A song accompanied by a loud sound reassuring, like the embrace of a mother or a sister. Janet once again proves to have much to say in this 11th album, and in this decade musical rather empty of content.
15) Black Eagle: the image of the eagle black lies precisely on the disc, and is also the image release, with a deployment of large wings, opening tour of Miss Jackson. In this piece we find ourselves immersed in atmospheres velvetropiane. But forget the sex in this record, and forget the whispers ...
This piece is perhaps one of the most difficult to interpret. Certainly it is a renewed support to the marginalized, the forgotten of society, but it could also be mapped as a hidden message of admiration for MJ. The song, accompanied by a finger snap and deep bass, has an aura of mystery and is sharp with his text, in no uncertain terms ...
I'm singing this love song to show my support
To the beautiful people who ignored sono stati
With blind eyes and cold shoulders attacking them
Invisible people they will not let in
Let's open our eyes to the true barrier
Stereotypical things are the worst
Stand face to face with the real ugly truth
How would you feel if That was you?
Clearly I was really surprised by this return, and certain parts, to counter certain texts with the fashions of the moment: sex, drugs, and parties ...! This "Black Eagle" is another great highlight of the disc, a gem really.
16) Well Traveled: I spoke of a journey, a journey that I tried to make you go serving me just written words, to be able to pass on a screen the size of this new album of Janet. A task far too difficult ... "Well Traveled" is the trace of pre-closing the disc without bonus track, and is an epic piece chain from production. Inside are instrumental elements of Indian music, country, and folk, accompanied by a pop production, and a "oh oh" that sticks in your head. The sound is great near perfectly to the lyrics, "I do not know where this journey will end, because the world keeps calling, people embraced me as a true friend, and I love all this energy," she sings joyful this woman, who seems to be at one point really he iridescent his career and his life. It has all the characteristics of a hymn to joy format Pop sound, and reminds me of the Janet more ethnic and international view video as "Runaway" and "Together Again". Found a positive, that sounds like a warm embrace.
17) Gon 'Be Alright: after moments of intimacy, joy, sadness, and important messages, here comes the bomb back of the disc: "Gon' Be Alright", a real tribute to the music of Motown, '70s, brothers Jackson 5, Michael, and all the great celebrities of music Soul, Funk and R & B.
If you love someone, you betta tell em now ... tell em tell em tell em ....
In no album Janet had demonstrated this attitude, but it is clear that here we also celebrate the nearly 50 years since the Jacksons have entered the music industry, it was the late '60s when Diana Ross introduced them to the world. A tribute to black music in full, a tribute to the sounds Jacksonian, and excellent vocal performance by the small family. The song is definitely perfect to close the disc comes ago to celebrate and look to the future with optimism ....! In the final part Janet verbally thanked everyone for listening ...
janetreview
When you find yourself to be a fan of "old" 49 years behind that has more than 30 years of career, 10 albums, won several awards, and more than 140 million records sold worldwide, of expectations do you do with a lot less especially after two business failures "20 YO" and "Discipline", which also creatively seemed a bit 'imprison her, and had significantly less mood and concept.
But after years of stop and absence from the scene, Janet managed to astound me with a really cohesive album that manages to be both traditional and innovative, that varies in a multitude of genres without labeling it or ingessarla, while following a logical, and maintaining a great artistic dignity.
"Unbreakable" is a disc with controcoglioni, a disc wanted, felt and lived, it can be seen simply by listening, in his voice, in his words. The return to the studio has grafted a significant creative process, it is also re-established a key relationship with Jam and Lewis, a unique relationship between the artist and the producer, which in terms of longevity, success and relevance has absolutely equal in musicbiz. Not only that, this album showed the vocal qualities of Damita Jo that at times may also be unpublished.
I do not imbalance if I say that just below the vocal is one of the most beautiful works of his career. Although not known to have had any significant extent and power, its timbre is clear, mature, deep, and able to convey emotions like few other can do (even among giovincelle). The change of tone and register, the harmonies on this record, are truly amazing.
"Unbreakable" is also an album of peace, positive, awareness, and peace. You do not feel any stress, but simply the desire to make music, not the desperate and breathless quest to create a hit, or needing to appeal to a different musical generation, wearing clothes that could be really ridiculous and in bad taste.
Created, period. No chains, no tacky, frills, it cloying self-congratulation, and then she started touring before the release of the disc, in place prefer to stay in contact with the audience, singing and dancing as only she can do.
While not having to prove anything to anyone, Janet emphasized a solid artistry, with a delicate and elegant approach, and has revealed new aspects of his personality.
Finally "Unbreakable" in many ways is absolutely the best album of Janet since "All For You", and many who dare to be even higher, reaching the mythical "The Velvet Rope".
I want to take my leave of you, and I really hope to be successful with my humble words rambling, as much as possible to convey the feelings that this record can convey, inviting you to participate in the Italian download day, and to download iTunes
