That logic is ridculous because Ride's hype was dead when Basic Instinct was released. Gimmie Dat carried the album.

Ciara will obviously sell more. They have spent so much money on promo, videos, radio, etc. This album will get a fair amount of shipments. She has hype right now.

It makes no sense to compare this release to BI.. That album was plagued by massively lengthy delays and Gimme Dat basically was the single that sold the album.. Ride was far over by the time the album was released, whereas BP is really doing extremely well..

It's obviously been a massive comeback single and not to forget Im Out with Nicki, which i guess they are really going to start pushing once BP has finished its run (which could very well last well into the albums release)

By the time the album drops the real PROMO would of kicked in (which we have no details on at the moment)

Tbh I really can see this opening with 100k first week.. Or at least around the 80k mark.. which IMO would be perfect numbers for a 'comeback' album.. Obviously more would be great, but i think at this point its safe to say that she wont sell anything less than 50k first week..

This is a COMPLETELY different scenario than BI. She actually has label support this time.
There is quality music & it's showing (looks @ billboard & iTunes). In all seriousness, Ciara has more hype now than she did at any point during BI. Mind you, we're still TECHNICALLY only 1 single into the era. I'm Out has yet to be released to radio & we still haven't gotten the video.
