2011 proved to be the domination of songstress Adele with the phenomenal success of her 21 album. Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You were monsters hits of the past calendar year and now she continues to slay with her music by the follow-up single Set Fire To The Rain. Despite not having an official music video, this song performed very well in the charts. Adele scores her 3rd straight #1 song in the US. Set Fire To The Rain is definitely one of the standouts from that record and it is no wonder this effortlessly makes it way to the top 20. Adele delivers a powerful rendition with this track as she shows the contradiction of elements of a relationship and the impossibility of letting go. When this was still present in the charts, I have foreseen it spending around five or more weeks at the top spot, but that didn't happen. It only spent two weeks at the top spot. Probably, an official music video is really an advantage to extend its reign. Hopefully, we see more of Adele releasing more standout heartbreaking tracks in the future perhaps this 2013.

WRITE-UP:
On The Floor was the runner-up song in my list last year. This time, the latest collaboration between Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull only settles for #17 this year. If you will compare the two collaboration, I bet majority if you will prefer On The Floor instead. Maybe deciding to duplicate the similar formula of that song did not turn out well this time. Despite the entire struggle Dance Again faced on the charts, you can say that it is still an enjoyable dance track especially to the fans like me. I've been listening to this song for quite a long time and it is good enough reason for this to appear in my list this high. Dance Again did very well also in my personal countdown where it spend a couple of weeks in the top 5. The music video is another dance masterpiece. This time we see Jennifer Lopez dancing with her boytoy Casper Smart. I kinda like the scenes where Jennifer is singing covered with glitters which is one of the highlights. Hit or miss, Dance Again makes it way inside my top 20 list of 2012.
