The timing is perfect to reach the #1 on Hot 100. By then RITD will be over 90m of airplay and E.T's airplay will have peaked by that time.

By then, E.T. will still have a strong audience (around 140-150M) so RITD would still have to sell over 50K-60K to be #1. E.T. will have to stop selling above 300K eventually though, so I'm sure ADELE can pull it off.
