I hate it too, but they waited until Jason was negative before they put him in power IIRC. They seem to do that very often, some of their choices are very questionable. Like taking Ke$ha out of power, it didn't make sense, especially seeing as they placed "Need You Now" back in power when it was dieing at the time.
