Besides Ryan seems to make it a point that he'll only link the seasons one at a time. So FS is shown to link with Asylum and MH is linked to Hotel. Bringing in more than one link per season messes it up. He'll probably link the next season to coven and the interconnect them from here on out.

I believe this too. I appreciate it that way the most.
If they would acknowledge Coven/witches they would have for example let the school girl dressed as a witch last episode say something like she was inspired by the new supreme Cordelia or something. Doubt they wouldn't make small links at all, if there was the intention to link more than one season to another..
Linking all seasons to one another really does have its problems.
