IGAB is everything a good pop song should be but those grating transitions hinder its replay value. It is one of those songs which you need to plan in advance when you will listen to it and appreciate in solitude.

It is hard to appreciate. We are all, in our most basic form, pop fans and why should we, as pop fans, be expected to labour over a song to appreciate the intricacies of the production and its melodic strength?

I am glad that, following the initial shock and residual hate of the album that spilt over and affected by objectivity when listening to track, I gave it a chance. It is barking, laced with hooks and has a furore which the majority of pop music lacks; I would liken the insanity of the track to maybe Bad Romance, although, Bad Romance is a better song in most respects.

Mr.Mr. is literally the only song from the mini that I like.

It's not that the other songs are bad, necessarily, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them.

I guess you can say it's hard to appreciate, although personally I love hearing it every single time - hearing every little detail and the constant melodic and tempo changes is just everything I love about the song. There are so few songs that switch genres multiple times throughout, and SNSD managed to execute it so well, flowing from one to the other perfectly.

The biggest kick is that people lauded Girls Aloud's Biology so much when it was released, yet here SNSD are doing the same thing a few years later and they're pummelled for it.

Funny cause it's the other way round for me.

It even that it's not that bad. I just expected better/more powerful from them.

Yes but the only difference is that Biology kept building on itself, whereas the pace kept changing so suddenly in IGAB. Biology's transitions were a lot smoother.

Xenomania are known for their productions of having 5 different songs in one, but they always make it work. IGAB just didn't.

IGAB live version does do that though. The Tiffany/Taeyawn bride ruined the momentum of the song but they ruin everything so I have trained myself to overlook their errors.

Mr. Mr. could have been one of their best tracks if it had a stronger production in the chorus. Less aegyo and more fierce like the verses.

So just wondering..what did people want from SNSD? Seems like most people had mixed reactions to their last two title tracks as well(though they seem to have grown to like/love it eventually).

The problem with Mr. Mr. is that there's way too much Tiffany on it. She is NOT main vocalist standard, I don't know why SM is so obsessed with her.

They should have given the key change note to Taeyeon or Jessica. Like I said before Mr. Mr. is basically TaeTiJeSeo (feat. Sunny) and the rest of the girls have like one line in the background. It's not a bad thing but the song loses personality as a result, which makes it worse as it was never their best song to begin with.

I'll be interested to see their comeback stage for this song, I hope that like with The Boys, the live performances enhance the songs. I really didn't like the IGAB choreography even though the song is one of their best.
