The season is all about addiction. I know y'all were talking about how John and Alex being terrible unrealistic parents, forgetting Scarlett, but they both let their addictions rule their life ad it's a horrible reality that does happen - John's addicted to his job, emphasis on him talking a business call and losing his child and has an alcohol addiction which hinders his decisions, Alex is addicted to the love of her son and feels like she can only survive through that love hence why she'd **** with her ex-husband just to keep that. She's also in the same place as Iris was to Donavon - being submission to The Countess power to keep the only reason she has to live safe. Then there's representations of addictions (Sally). The Countess is like the epitome of how people use different forms of addiction trying to find happiness (sex, constant lovers, drugs, filling her life with children, now going to Paris to become rich thinking that is what will make her happy when she's just forever living an immortal life of unhappiness and un-fulfillment). She just uses everyone as pawns of her own happiness goals. It's all about narcissism, addiction, greed and the means people will go to to survive and obtain happiness.
Well, that's my interpretations.

literally every person in the last two seasons have just been so unrealistic, irrational, and evil. i want someone to root for, like lana again  the last two seasons have been too unbelievable and unrealistic. |

hopefully someone kills her, although i grew to like her.
Also it can't be a coincidence that they just randomly started in episode 5 to call her countess because it's nonstop now.

I feel so bad for Scarlett
Alex is terrible, trying to make John go crazy and in the meantime, ignoring her daughter 
I REALLY hope there's more Murder House connections

exactly. the show has become so much larger than life
PLEASE let season 6's plotline be a little more ordinary with real/human/likeable/relatable characters who are GOOD and you want to root for

Another really good ep, loved the MH flashback at the beginning
Took a little while for something else to happen, but I loved the two Swedish girls trying to make John go crazy, Tristan dying too was great
