Aside from streaming, doesn't look like it's going to be the massive hit people thought.
And in regards to TIWYCF performing "poorly"...
Y'all do know that Work went down to #6 after its release before the video right?
|
I think it'll be the most forgotten #1 of the year. It's being overshadowed by so much.

It is massive though... One Dance is just even bigger.

I'm slowly starting to think that there are 2 types of consumers... Downloaders and streamers.. Once in a while a song comes which does well in sales but not in streaming - one call away, my house, no
These may not get a very high peak at the top but the artist eventually gets more revenue than those streaming hits...

Because that's what actually counts at the end of the day.

Anyway, all Rihanna's singles fall back on itunes after the release: Work, WFL, Diamonds etc. The latter fell outside the top10

4. Beyoncé - Hold Up
6. Beyoncé - Sorry
Her team ****ed up choosing "Sorry" as the first single. They probably thought people were here for that track the most, but it was only selling better because of the "Becky with the good hair" line going viral. Now that hype is wearing off the real smash is coming into the open.
"Sorry" is also great so I still have hope tho.

Meanwhile in my country, Formation just snatched the #1 back from Rihanna's latest "release it in case of previous failures" song and Drake's latest version of the same recycle beat he's been using:
Brazil iTunes Top Songs
1 +3 Beyoncé - Formation
2 -1 Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For (feat. Rihanna)
3 -1 Drake - One Dance (feat. Wizkid & Kyla)

I should know better than doubting her but I'm really surprised at Bey doing so well. Formation is stable at #2 while Hold Up and Sorry are gaining hard

That's without Pop radios playing it yet, never getting a promo spot, 8.67Million people having the Album, and no announcement from Adele herself
I can see it going Top 10 with the video premiere
