nobody uses McDonalds except for high schoolers and little children who celebrate birthdays. Last time I went to McDonalds was in October (I think?) in 2015
and don't get me started on how old, ugly and unhealthy the oil is there

Last time I went was this summer, and I probably eat like 3-4 times a year at most there

since it's Xmas time, there have been conversations among atheists on this "War On Christmas" thing. Should be ban people saying "Merry Christmas" and say "Happy Holidays" so we don't offend non-christians and is Christmas a holiday that only christians celebrate or do y'all view it as me and see it was a pagan holiday that lost it's religious meaning? It's kinda messy tho that the english word is CHRISTmass tho I prefer typing Xmas because it's quicker and looks more fancier, but still I don't even give a s*** if it has word "christ" in it either.

I don't say Merry Christmas, I use Happy Holidays. I am definitely not in favor of banning either, unless a private business chooses to within its own space.

The french word has no reference to Christ so there's no issue. But I'd say Merry Christmas, I don't mind. There's no use in trying to erase christianity especially since a lot of atheists have made their own a lot of christians festivities (Christmas, easter, ...). If I lived in a country where a majority of people are muslim or was founded on Islam I'd celebrate the muslim holiday the same way

oh, and speaking of offending people, christians get so triggered with the word "Xmas" actually
they say it's "Western capitalistic word11", "X means money instead of it's true meaning!1", "it does not celebrate jesus christ1!11"
so one more reason to type Xmas
also when someone say "merry christmas" I say "thank you" and I have no problem with that, but when christiams who know I am an atheist say it on purpose with the smirk on their face, I just say "happy holidays" and they get so triggered, I don't get it. It's so funny trolling people who are so extreme in their beliefs

Same. I prefer using Happy Holidays when referring publicly with people who I don't know what they celebrate. But it's so cringy when someone says "happy holiday" on Xmas what's the purpose of saying it on that date when only people who celebrate Xmas, celebrate it on that date?
I know I used to one of those cringey atheists back when I was 15, 16 and 17 years old. How embarrassing looking back at it

I'd do it (if it's socially expected of course, nobody does Lent nowadays for example) They're not starving themselves henny, they're having Christmas sized dinner every night for a month

I'd eat my breakfast and drink water during the day, thank you very much. And you know I'll be ready when that tasty dinner arrives, henny!

The Xmas vs Happy holidays debate
If someone wishes you Merry Christmas and you don't celebrate it be friendly move on.
If someone wishes you Happy Holidays and you celebrate Christmas be friendly and move on.
It's not that hard.

@FBF actually, now that I had my own thinking about it, I would not do that Ramadan thing and here's why: it's a month long and the eating habit is unhealthy. What is the point of starving yourself all day just so you can eat tons of food before you go to sleep? It's so pointless and stupid. The only good thing about it is final day, because I've seen they also share gifts just like on Xmas.
secondly, Xmas is, as we already mentioned, a pagan holiday. It has become more of a non-religious holiday and many non-christians are celebrating it too! Especially in Japan and North Korea!
Thirdly, this is the christian version of ramadan, and it's that 50 days before easter, it's forbidden to eat meat on fridays and wendesday, except for fish for whatever reason
I remember buying myself a sandwich on a friday, and the teacher asked me "why do you eat meat, did you forgot it's friday" and I was like "I don't care, I'm hungry" and she gave me a side-eye. I couldn't have said I am an atheist because so many people at that high school were religious and it's better dor me to keep my mouth shut
@Lucas32 I agree, but do you, also as an atheist, celebrate Xmas or not and why?

I do celebrate Xmas but not out of religious reasons but for cultural reasons.
I love getting together with family and friends, have a great meal and exchnage gifts, you know the classic stuff. I stopped going to church on Christmas with my parents about 2 years ago when I was 17 but even when I went it never had a religious connotation for me. I mostly went to make my mum happy, who becomes strangely devout when it comes to the one time a year she goes to church while paying religion absolute dust for the other 365 days and 23 hours of the year
I mean she doesn't even have a bible at home so yeah I celebrate it every year and love it. It's become a celebration of general love and consumerism to most people anyway I think.

waiT, you're 19 years old like me?? mess, I thought you were older
same with me, except last year I wasn't forced into going to church. My mom is super religious and she forced me to go to church for xmas, easter or when she pays church to read name of a dead person as if that changes the fact they're dead. Ughh, so stupid
but ever since I have turned 18, she accepted the fact I am an atheist (but not fully) and let's me do my thing, kinda. We're gonna see if she's gonna make a deal about me going to church this sunday

No, I'm 19 too. Sometimes I'm worried people think I am 32 or something due to my username even though it was just a random number tagged onto my name because I can never think of good usernames

your vocabulary is very grown-up, you don't type like a messy kween like most ATRLers do or troll like most str8s of our generation
and your avi is also so serious, so I thought you were mid-20 like most men in other internet forums I had conversations with
