And yes what purpose do the albums actually serve?
None, because you can upload all of those pictures to tinypic or somewhere else. Most of them probably got created by people who don't know how to upload pictures. And most of them are forgotten & only take the space unless they are made by ATRL+ members who can use them for profile customisation.
If some mod is interested I can go through all of those 600+ photoalbums and post links to the ones that should get deleted from the poor ATRL server #NoLife ...However you must reverse those 2 WPs.
Photoalbums won't make a difference at all. It's the constant page requests because of the amount of people. The server (mostly software) can't keep up with it.
Also, as has been mentioned here, gifs and secondary avis aren't stored on ATRL. That's why you always write the URL of where it is located when linking a gif. The forum just uses that gif, it never stores it on ATRL itself.

But you can't be offtopic if the thread title keeps changing constantly, it's not their fault if the title gets changed before their post is on there
There were a fake ARTPOP thread a couple months back that turned into a mess.
Everyone started promoting their faves' albums, perfumes and whatnot.
