Paige Elliot on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Paige Elliot appeared on her second performance of the day today (After Good Morning America's random outburst and storm out), being on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The show opened up to Jimmy at his desk, making a rather serious introduction to the show, as if it was the news. However, a few seconds in, he slipped out from his chair and fell under the desk. Paige jumped up from under the desk and onto his seat, wearing a cream-colored dress with staggered pictures of white lilys, as if the dress was torn into stripped and then wrapped at random around her, taking Jimmy's cue card papers and holding them before her. She continued the introduction, managing to mention a few things that would occur on the show before Jimmy jumped up, grabbed the chair and shoved it (With Paige still on it) off-screen as Paige gasped. He finished the introduction, ending on "We'll begin our show with Paige Elliot performing her debut single, 'Ready for the Weekend', along with a never-before heard song!" as Paige stormed up to him, a look of anger on her face before the camera cut away to the stage as Paige hurried onto it.
The stage set up was simple, being just a backing band, including live drums, bass guitar, electric guitar and synthesizer.
The opening number was a new song, an electronic ballad with ethereal synths, giving the thought of flying. There were several electronic hisses and clicks, and at one point, the sound of a life support breathing machine as the live drums kicked in, a simple rhythm, with no use of the hi-hats or cymbals. The song also featured heavy riffs on the bass guitar, crunching away under Paige's smooth, sweet, quiet voice as she sang about finding love in a vast, hopelessly large place ("Somewhere up here, I'll find you, I swear, if it's all I ever do until I die"). She swayed back and forth, holding onto the microphone as she sang as the bass riffs grew from a muffled thumping to crunchy, rather loud riffs with the guitar joining, giving a rough sound to the ballad as the drums kicked up, louder, using the bass drum, snare and the occasional hi-hat. Several clicks, whistles and hisses came from the synthesizer, still going with the ethereal feeling as Paige continued to sing, her voice low and quiet, yet smooth and beautiful, enchanting. The song faded out at the end as Paige held the last note of the last line ("I swear, some day, I'll be with you...") until the music had completely died down.
After the song had finished, an evil smirk came onto Paige's face as the synthesizer took over, creating the high-pitched voice in "Ready for the Weekend" as the song began. The audience began to sing along with Paige, getting excited and fist-pumping and jumping up and down with her as Paige moved along the small stage to the party-ready, complextro jam until it crashed into an end.
After the performance, Paige appeared in the guest seat next to Jimmy as the two continued to bicker about the earlier event, jokingly rivaling each other. The entire routine together was comedic, as they began to spew shady insults towards each other without outright insulting each other ("Jimmy, I'm shocked you could push me away like you did when you can barely move an inch yourself." ; "Well, Paige, at least I didn't demand you carry me to the bathroom like you did last week.", and so on).
After several discussions, including asking Paige (on rapid-fire) about more serious topics in the world, Paige left as the audience clapped ecstatically.
