"Wild Ones" |
WRITE-UP:
Opening the list of the amazing top 20 is Flo Rida with Wild Ones. If you're not here to see this so high in my list, we'll get a good taste in music. Whether you like it or not, Flo Rida had an amazing 2012 thanks to all the singles release from his record of the same title. At first, I was really ignoring his music thinking that Flo Rida cannot provide us anymore with something catchy. My impression changed starting with Wild Ones. The obvious reason why I like this is because of the chorus which was cleverly done by Sia. She really knows how to nail that unforgettable chorus line. I enjoyed listening to this song for quite some time when it was still on its peak wherein I could not escape Sia's part. Wild Ones is one of Flo Rida's biggest hit for 2012 and it is a good contender for his earlier hit Low as a signature hit of his career. Wild Ones is just one of the surprises inside my top 20. There's a lot more I can offer to you in the succeeding updates. Stay tune in this thread!

Finishing at the #19 spot is the title track from the breakthrough record of Fun. Some Nights definitely deserve to earn a spot in the top 20 since this is one of their smash hits for the year 2012. This is actually a sleeper-hit where it took around 7 months to peak at #3 on the Hot 100 chart, particularly because the lead single is still dominating earlier. Some Nights is one the unique sounds I've heard last year. Lead vocalist Nate Ruess cleverly deliver those epic lines accompanied by his falsettos and that operatic melody. The song focuses on the protagonists feelings of self-deprecation and loneliness. The music video gave the song a good story as it shows a fictional battle taking place under the Civil War. The video features two soldiers; the first is a farmer who is in love with his life, land and animals while the other is about two young lovers torn apart as the young man heads off to the fight. The story was cleverly told in the span of 5 minutes. Fun. successfully made their breakthrough last year and earned enough success on the Mainstream especially with this song. They truly deserve to receive at least one award from the coming Grammys.
