Where did you hear this? This games will be in 3D like X/Y was. Unless you're referring to the actual 3D part of the 3DS not being used in some parts of the game, then they did that for X/Y too.

I think most would agree that Fennekin is okay, though. The hate probably and deservedly comes from it's final evolution.
