I'm not saying is a bad game, actually is cool, and as I stated, the anime is cool as well.
Putting away my YGO-love and talking without any bias:
The rules of the Vanguard game seem simple and there aren't that many rules. Even though, sometimes you don't know what's going on. I, personally, have never played the game because here they don't sell the cards and the video games never made it out of Japan, and since the 3DS is zone-locked I can't play, I would actually buy a game if they were released here (I only play on handhelds, I don't like playing on consoles that need a TV, I get headaches).
The anime, makes a great work in explaining the rules and as I said earlier, it's fun.
The problem is that as it progresses, some things are lost and then suddenly you're watching a bunch of monsters fighting each other without any explanation of what's going on. I mean, I don't want to have to learn what each card does in order to understand what's going on.
The new generation started, and already is suffering of the GX syndrome.
tl;dr
Even though Vanguard is not a big card game like YGO or MtG, I like it. But it needs to do something asap, since it's been losing its hype since last year. And it needs to release a 3DS or PSP game in America so I can play.
Yes Vanguard is more straight forward than Yu Gi Oh :P I dont watch the anime though so not sure about that xD And my card shops sell Vanguard so I'mall good Vanguard is just not sold on bigger markets like Walmart and Target so

No. The American localization (or "dub", more of localization cuz everything regarding the plot will be changed) will start this year, but we don't know when.
Funny cuz I cannot watch anime without Japanese voices.

Ah. That sucks. I was anticipating to watching this.
