This trend to be some edgy gay conservative on ATRL is just so please consider acting in your own interests in the future

Today a silent protest, tomorrow a silent attack on your rights my friend. I have seen it play out in here countless times. First they played the pity party, as soon as they rose to power they had wiped us minorities of our LGBT centers, each one shut down in a matter of months. I hope you never will have to see it in beautiful Austin.
I've heard what happened in Turkey and I was shocked (especially after I saw the comments from german muslims, they all blamed the gays and said that we need to learn to behave etc. which is ironic considering the current events). Same comments were made by russian germans btw. Not all muslims or russians are like that but I understand that it's easy for a gay guy to 'hate' them. I have the same problem with them and christianity sometimes. Many western countries still have a problem with gays and the majority of the western world is white and often christian. It's a global problem, in some countries more than in others. We shouldn't blame the muslims in the western countries for their governments. It's not their fault and many of them just want to live in peace. We should blame the politicians for this. They have the power to change things and to influence the general public but they use us minorities and pit the majority against us and us against other minorities. I believe that Turkey will become a country where gay people can live in peace one day but it's still a long road. There are probably muslims in your country who support gay people too. Good luck to y'all in turkey
A few people in the crowd say something mean to her, and now all of the 1,000s of people at the rally hate Muslims? And people complain about stereotypes against Muslims.....
I'm tired of these gays thinking they have the right to compare Islam to Adolf Hitler and get away with it. I'm tired of people claiming Islam is a violent religion without picking up the Quran to read it. I'm tired of having people say in the UAE women can't drive alone when people who lived there said otherwise. I'm tired of people thinking banning all Muslims, including US Muslims, is a thing.
Enough. This thread is done
Islam CAN be interpreted as inherently violent and some bad fundamentals in the text. Don't blame us, we didn't write the Quran. Blame Mohammed or whatever.
The Bible is problematic too.The problem resides within people's interpretation of these ancient texts. I'd like to think most Muslims and Christians are not extremists interpreting them literally.
Duh, because interpreting them literally would be horrible. Which is the point. Just b/c some people choose not to follow everything, doesn't mean that's not what it says.
OMG NO an attention ***** got escorted out, like what was she even thinking she was doing?
thats like siting in a conservative muslim rally covered in the gay flag talking about peace.
except they probably wont only escort you out ...
The only sad part about this are the Islamophobic comments thrown at her. She went there to cause a scene, create a story and put the attention on the issues she wanted addressed. She would have been more upset had she not been thrown out because there would have been no story to be told. Her agenda is obvious and aside from the comments she received I don't feel bad at all for this situation, she got exactly what she wanted.
Oh yeah, I completely agree there and I even said that. I have 0 problems with Muslim people (unless one individual does something super problematic, in which case the problem is with the individual. Not all Muslims). I'm just pointing out the Quran is hardly un-problematic like G^2 was acting. And while the bible does have some Old Testament stuff that can be kinda , it is less than the Quran does. And the NT cancels out almost all (if not all) of that stuff too. I mean, it's hardly super cringeworthy, but most Christians don't do the "No mixed fabrics" thing now
Not to mention that in the Bible it's just A telling B to kill whoever where as in the Quran it's literally God's word. That's why it's much harder for a part of the population to go against what it says.
