It'll be interesting to see how a
Smash game will be without Sakurai directing. I mean, I know he always says "this one is my last one", but he got tendinitis on his shoulder about halfway through the development of
Smash 4, and still kept working on it for another ~3 years. I can only imagine that it'll get worse as time passes, and since Nintendo is definitely not letting
Smash go, I think they'll get a new director for the next iteration of the game.
The thing is, while a new director might give the fans more of what they want, will they be able to make some more creative and ingenius choices like Sakurai has?
