The absurdity of the Global argument:

Let us assume that there are only 3 countries in the World - Country A, Country B, and the United States.
Let us say that an artist sells 0 records in the US and 10 each in Country A and B for a total of 20. Now. let us assume that Taylor sells 50 in the USA and 15 in each in country A and B for a total of 80. You are going to say that Taylor is local because she sold 50 out of 80 albums in the USA, But you missed the fact that she actually sold more all around than the other artist. And don't forget that the USA is the biggest market in the World. You should have a big chunk of that market to be relevant, even globally.

so SIO had 3 months
whereas umbrella had 6 months (pretty much its entire chart run)

I don't know. I mean, I would instinctively say 1989 but you all seem to say GGGB. I was already very active in the music field back in the day but I don't remember GGGB being that big. I know it was a huge era but I'd say that 1989 is bigger, maybe because Taylor today is the only exciting popstar while there were more back in 2007. I don't know.
