Mariah Carey's album sucks ASS. It did not grew on me whatsoever. Anyway, I actually kinda want to check Adam Lambert's album out.

Any man who loves MOAIA, and more importantly - RIBBON (!!!) - is a man of distinguished taste. Well done!

Reeces' Best Of '09: Top 30 Albums (10-09)

10. Timbaland “Shock Value II”
Standout Tracks: "If We Ever Meet Again', 'Meet In That Middle', 'Tomorrow In The Bottle', 'Undertow', 'Carry Out', 'Lose Control'
Although Shock Value II has not been received well by critics and most of the comments I’ve seen about the album here are negative, I think Timbaland did a great job and delivered an album with different sounds and most importantly a variety of collaborations, which is what this album is all about for me. The first two tracks in the album, ‘Carry Out’ and ‘Lose Control’ feature Timberlake and JoJo, two artists that I’m desperately needing new music from; both tracks have insane beats and addictive hooks. A new alter-ego is introduced in the next track, Bran’Nu aka Brandy, technically kills ‘Meet In Tha Middle’, and surprisingly Timbaland keeps up and actually makes the track more enjoyable. Timbaland gets a hand from hip-hop newest sensation, Drake, in ’Say Something’, which is an urban hit waiting to happen. I hate Nickelback and I thought ’Tomorrow In A Bottle’ was going to be a disaster for sure, but oddly it’s one of my favorites from the album. Miley Cyrus gives a fun vibe and her own twist to ‘We Belong To The Music’, although her vocals are not strong and her voice can get annoying, I have to admit I enjoy this at times. ‘If We Ever Meet Again’ sounded weird at first, but after a few listens I had to question myself why I didn’t enjoy this song before. First single ‘Morning After Dark’ featuring Nelly Furtado and SoShy is catchy as hell, Nelly’s verse makes the song in my opinion. The brilliant ‘Undertow’ is next with help from The Fray and Esthero; their voices match each other perfectly making this sound just beautiful. The standard version of the album ends with the charming ’Timothy Where You Been’ featuring Jet, just a perfect way to finish the album. If that wasn’t enough the deluxe edition includes collaborations with Daughtry in ‘Long Way Down‘, ‘The One I Love’ featuring Keri Hilson, and ‘Symphony’ with Bran’Nu once again, all these song deserve to be mentioned as they are as good as the rest of the album. Like I said before this album is all about the collaborations for me, JoJo, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Nelly Furtado, Katy Perry, what more can you ask for? I’m all up for a third installment, if there is one.

09. BoA “BoA”
Standout Tracks: 'Obsessed', 'Did It For Love', 'Did Ya', 'Hypnotic Dancefloor', 'Energetic', 'Touched'
It’s sad that BoA had the opportunity to have an amazing year, but sadly her label had to mess everything up for her. This record is extremely radio friendly but the lack of promotion and her singles not even being sent to radio hurt her chances. Her self-titled U.S debut is filled with dance tracks and surprisingly not even one ballad. ‘I Did It For Love’ featuring Sean Garrett is insanely addictive and the choreography in the music video is just mind blowing. The next track, ‘Energetic’ is all about the clubs, even the lyrics are about clubbing. She sings ‘you should’ve loved me, but you didn’t, did ya?’ in the next track ‘Did Ya’, and she keeps the catchy tunes coming with ‘Look Who’s Talking’. The track that pretty much introduced me to BoA, ‘Eat You Up’, starts playing right after, it caught my attention immediately at first listen. ‘Obsessed’ sounds like a Rihanna track and it has one of the most catchy chorus that I’ve heard this year, should’ve been released but her label is a mess. BoA shows a more sexual side in the next track, ’Touched’, with lines such as “don’t keep me waiting, I wanna be touched” and the fierce ‘Scream’ just keeps the club beats dropping. ‘Girls On Top’ and ‘Dress Off’ are both growers but still the two weakest tracks in the album, they are still enjoyable, though. One of my favorites is the last track in the album, ‘Hypnotic Dancefloor’; the line "tonight I'm gonna dance for my life" makes me believe this song would have a sick choreography. BoA is such an underrated act here in the states, but hopefully a miracle happens and people start appreciating her music as much as I do.

lmao. oh c'mon now. Shock Value II is such a hot mess. Having a lot of collaborators does not equal quality. I havn't heard BoA but this set is not what I really expected in the top ten albums. I guess better stuff will come soon?

Of course a lot of collaborations does not equal quality, and you should definitely hear BoA's album, I think you will like it.

Timbaland's album is OK, but the only songs I really like are "Carry Out" and "Morning After Dark".
His first album was better IMO.
