The whole reason for radicalism in the middle east is because of the funding from the US, Russia and other western countries.


If anything, these radicals are killing themselves to get back at the West who don't give a crap about them. If anything, the West is winning at the internal instability, bombing and other attacks. So in the end, it's the West that wins through their twisted effed up mind games. Everytime they attack a Western nation it only makes things worse for them. And who suffers? 1) That hasn't been the case for quite a long time, and many of religions, notably Christianity has been "disrespected" even more than Islam
2) You obviously have never bothered reading the Bible or any other religious text. Never does it specify what God or Jesus looks like in any of the texts. So that's just an ignorant point. Jesus in the modern representation is an artistic representation.
3) So because they will keep coming if we don't stop criticizing them, we should limit our freedom of speech. Sounds like tyranny to me.

Just my take:

1. Charlie Hebdo doesn't pick and choose targets through prejudice. Its targets are religions, ideologies, governments, etc. that are at the forefront of current events.
2. Why should non-believers have to follow rules of a religion they don't believe in if they live in a society that encourages freedom of speech and expression?
3. Where would our society stand today if all seekers of knowledge stopped asking questions because those before them were deemed heretics and persecuted in the name of religion? Revolutions don't happen overnight. We have to endure hardships and tragedies to overcome.

But that's exactly what terrorism is all about: causing fear. The cover shows that CH are not afraid at all, so in that regard it's very effective. The only thing I'm concerned about is the depiction of Mohammed because it might come off as offensive to quite a lot of people. Then again, I guess being controversial and provocative is what makes Charlie Hebdo Charlie Hebdo.
