I believe this is a Bangerz reject, but Ester probably did it better anyhow. A weird empowerment bop.
89 Neon Hitch Gypsy Star
Anyone who knows me knows I love Neon, but this song is the only one from her 2014 EP to make it on my Top 100 for one good reason: Neon is the only one that can sing this song. No one else can do it. I walk around with a tablecloth in my haaaaaair!
88 Nicki Minaj Want Some More
I had to permit at least one song from The Pinkprint to sneak up on my Top 100 with the little time it had to grow on me, and it had to be this one. Full of Minaj sass, bars and a great hook and beat... and it's hip hop!
87 St. Vincent Psychopath
This is one of those songs that are good for pretty much any situation and will make you feel better than you did previously. Annie's power struck me this year. This song, although I didn't have a major moment, stuck with me throughout the year.
86 Dev & Sage the Gemini Kiss It
Pretty much the least promoted and lowest budget EVERYTHING I've seen from an artist this year, eek. Her label really gave up on her which is sad because this song kinda knocks in a weird way. Loves it.
85 Nick Jonas Chains
Before anything from his debut was released, we had Chains. This song got me mad hyped for Nick's work because of how fresh and catchy it is, we really needed something like this in pop this year IMO.
84 The Madden Brothers We Are Done
Who knew Good Charlotte would come back with a soft-alt 50s sound? Hahahah. I was pleasantly surprised with this, their lead single, but I'm pretty sure nobody is really checking very hard for them. A mistake? Who knows.
83 Phantogram Bill Murray
Well, there's not a whole lot to say about this besides it's so sonically pleasant and graceful sounding. Never checked for Phantogram until this year but this is great!
82 Broods Mother & Father
This song connected with me not only because it's very well produced, but because the song and what it's saying couldn't have hit me at a better time in my life. Broods are cute - sometimes they're a snoozefest but I like them.
81 iamamiwhoami The Last Dancer
A lot of iamamiwhoami fans were seemingly disappointed by her comeback album, Blue, but it'd be silly to dismiss an obvious gem like this one and a few others on the record. Simply stunning and on par with her previous masterpieces.
