You dont need television performances and other big marketing deals to promote an album nowadays.
Many movies are being promoted using viral videos and pranks on youtube with great success. The internet is the best platform to reach a huge audience in the shortest amount of time possible with the lowest budget. You read about Beyonces surprise release everywhere on the internet on every social network and news site just a few hours after the release. Saying she didnt have any promotion is wrong, she just had different promotion than what was usual before.

You'll understand why the Beyoncé stans pretending Beyoncé doesn't do promo is so annoying when your fave goes through a no-promo stage. The Britney stans are still melting down over not getting a single promotional performance this era, meanwhile the Beyoncé stans watched the 2013 SuperBowl and her commercial featuring a new song for 10 months and asked themselves when the promo campaign would begin.

Mirrors, Try, Let Her Go, 22, Can't Hold Us, Gangnam Style, Coming Home, Ho Hey, Forever, Counting Stars, Do What U Want, Don't Cha, I Love It, LIKE A PRAYER, Ray of Light, etc. Add those to the songs I first gave Television commercials are the best promo you can get now.

Beyoncé didn't even have a viral video or anything beforehand. There was no promo that accounted for the album selling 80,000 copies in its first 3 hours of release.

The difference is that you can actually buy those songs but you can't buy Grown Woman as a single And to even add more to it, it's the 3 least downloaded music video from the album on iTunes Looks like this supposed "promo" didn't even work

This is the problem with talking to Beyoncé stans. Nobody is talking about her success but you all and you can't manage to actually respond to something without bringing in money or something completely arbitrary. The argument posted on the first page was "No promo. Beyoncé proved you don't need it." People are pointing out that she clearly had a heavy promo plan.

I never thought of that. You mean she was actually trying to sell her album and not just singles so she made it all album-only? Wow, who would have guessed? It's not like she said it in her documentary to try and shade another artist or anything That completely negates the ENTIRE 10 month promotional commercial campaign and the SuperBowl performance.

A buzz single is any music released to keep your brand at the forefront as a musician. It's not actually a single that flopped and no longer will be on the album like J. Lo's and Mariah's press releases pretend they are.

They are checking for her but it's more like, they are checking the surprise album news popping out all over the Internet. When something goes viral you can ignored it but millions of people are gonna click it anyway.
